Ok, everybody loves this cancelled cartoon and is the best show ever created in my opinion.

Let's discuss this great show.

Favorite characters?

And what is the best movie parody they did on there? Not just the "Coming Attractions" with Jay Sherman, but just doing it to do it.

I was laughing when I saw Jay dressed up as a guy from A Clockwork Orange. It was magnificent.

"Your job is to rate movies on a scale from 'good' to 'excellent."
"But what if I don't like a movie?"
"That's what 'good' is for."

This is indeed one of the most classic TV shows I've ever seen. A funny show for all movie lovers.

Best movie parody...I don't know about best, but I did enjoy the remake of "Pinocchio" with Robin Williams as the voice of the Beige Fairy.

Favorite episode goes to the one guest-starring Siskel (R.I.P.) and Ebert. Hilarious stuff.

I always loved this show. I loved the Orson Welles "cameo" selling Rosebud peas

Is that the one where he says "it's like a pea-nus" or something? My brother and I used to repeat this one all the time. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

A hilarious show which I, I'm happy to say, have every episode of on tape. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif Really funny stuff, especially for movie freaks like us. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

<big ol' BUMP>

There's gotta be more Schmoes who love this show! The Critic seemed to have been made for me - a whiny, cynical movie nerd who loathes 90% of Hollywood product...

Yeah this is definitly one show that should have never gotten the axe. It seems like Comedy Central or somebody would have the sense to try and bring it back. I really don't know anyone who didn't like it. And sadly, it's not like John Lovitz has a lot going on right now. Seriously, I can't understand why he's not bigger than what he is. He and Phil Hartman (may he rest in peace) are the two most under appreciated people ever to come out of SNL.

I loved this show... never got around to watching all the episodes, but it always made me piss my pants laughing...
Too bad it ended. Some of my favorite moments are "The Godfather II, starring Kevin Costner and the Three Tenors" (Boy, this guy can't carry a tune!) and the singing bears in Duke's office ("We're the bears who sing for Duke, doodah, doodah, drinking scotch until we puke")

Hell, I could go an all day about my favorite moments from this show: Jay trasnmitting live from an Iraqi prison; Jay mouthing off to Fidel Castro; Jay and the Cher impersonator; Johnny Wrath on the Howard Stern show; Jay's dad dressed up as the Energizer bunny; on and on.

I miss this show!

I remember this show. I used to watch it as a kid, I enjoyed it then, and oh yeah. Jon Lovitz does indeed rock. At least I think so (I'm usually wrong.)

Well it's bad that ABC had to do what they had to do. But luckily The Critic has found new life via reruns on Comedy Central.

Seeing as how I've been compared (more than once) to Jay Sherman, I'll throw in my vote. I don't remember any particular episodes, but I do remember enjoying the show.

I don't think they meant physical resemblance. More of the smart-ass thing.

I don't think CC airs Critic at 1 am on weekdays anymore. ~.~

This show was too good. Curse you FOX/ABC!

This was a damn fine show which was cancelled before it's time. From the executive producers of THE SIMPSONS. The tones of both shows are similar but I didn't care. It was fucking funny. I loved watching it every night on Comedy Central but they stopped playing it a long while ago. Several mini episodes were made for the internet a few years ago and were even on the box set but they just weren't the same. Too bad we were only graced with two seasons of this magnificent show. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
