I really can't tell you what I think of Dana Carvey. He USED to be funny on "Wayne's World", the SNL skit and the movie. But now he's like a raving idiot. That Master Of Disguise trailer looks so dumb. I just want to scream and slap him across the face every time I hear that stupid "Turtle, turtle" line. He CAN be funny, it just depends on what he is saying. But now he's just so dumb-acting. What does everyone else think?

I think Dana Carvey is one of the most brilliant impressionists of all time. However, "Master of Diguise" looks absolutely horrible. I wish Dana would find some better projects to showcase his talent.

I've never really cared for Dana Carvey very much. He never seemed funny to me. I will admit however that I crack up everytime I see the "Turtle, turtle" part of the trailer for Master of Disguise. Although I'm sure that's the funniest part of the movie.
Also, I seen a lot of people saying that MOD looks terrible. I will admit that it doesn't look great but it could be funny. I don't like the 67 minute running time but I found out some info. that helps make sense out of the whole movie. Carvey was on one of the morning talk shows last week (Regis or something like that) and he said that he only did Master of Disguise for his kids and that everyone should just go in with an open mind. So hopefully it will be a funny little kids movie...

I have never found Dana Carvey funny. Oh wait, his Goerge Bush impression was funny in 1992, but when he still does it in the year 2002 it makes me cringe. Get some new material!!!
And The Master of Disguise does look like a razzie contender...

I think he's a hilarious comedian that has (or I should say "may have" since I haven't seen the movie) just made a dud with The Master of Disguise. Even the funniest of comedians have duds.

I agree with JST and Colin, he is a brilliant impressionist and good comedian, but The Master of Disguise doesn't exactly look like Citizen Kane.

He's better when he does stand-up. in fact, he's unbelievable. I'd rather pay to see a "stand up movie" a la the new martin lawrence deal. He's got plenty more than just the george bush. jimmy stewart, neil young, cary grant, etc etc

I definitely agree. Dana is excellent at stand-up. Even better there than he was at SNL...

notch, I'm sorry to say man, but that's the price you pay when you watch reruns of SNL. His stand-up material is always new and fresh.

I think he is one of the funniest guys around. He fell onto to some tough times in the last few years. I was never a huge fan of the Waynes World stuff but always liked his impressions and more so his dead-on stand up.
I think MOD looks pretty funny. It scares me that its a Nik film tho...but that turtle guy makes me laugh just thinking about it. Ill go see it and im sure it will apease my funny bone.

Like most of you, I am skeptical of MOD. Nevertheless, Dana Carvey is a hilarious and treasured comedian who does fabulous impersonations. Nobody could have pulled off Garth Algar like him:
"Benjamin is nobody's friend. If Benjamin were an ice cream flavor, he'd be pralines and dick."
"That is a babe! She makes me feel kinda funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym-class."
[Talking about Claudia Schiffer]
Wayne Campbell: She's a babe.
Garth Algar: She's magically babelicious.
Benjamin Oliver: So Garth, how do you like being in a studio?
Garth Algar: Ahm, it's like a new pair of underwear, you know... At first it's constrictive, but after a while it becomes a part of you.
Garth Algar: She's a babe.
Wayne Campbell: She's a robo-babe. In Latin she would be called "babia majora".
Garth Algar: If she were a president she would be Baberaham Lincoln.
"OK ... First I'll access the secret military spy satelite that is in geosynchronous orbit over the midwest. Then I'll ID the limo by the vanity plate "MR. BIGGG" and get his approximate position. Then I'll reposition the transmission dish on the remote truck to 17.32 degrees east, hit WESTAR 4 over the Atlantic, bounce the signal back into the aerosphere up to COMSAT 6, beam it back to SATCOM 2 transmitter number 137 and down on the dish on the back of Mr. Big's limo... It's almost too easy."
"I'm having a good time... not."
From Wayne's World 2:
[Pickup-line]
Honey Horne: So, would you like to have dinner one night?
Garth Algar: Oh, I like to have dinner every night.
Honey Horne: I'm goning to be frank.
Garth: OK. Can I still be Garth?
Honey Horne: Take me, Garth!
Garth Algar: Where? I'm low on gas and you need a jacket.
Unbelievably hysterical movies!

hes a funny comedian indeed,he needs to find his touch and type of film, master of disguise just isnt it...i think master of disguise looks like something to rent maybe, which is why i still believe it should be a STV.

I wouldn't consider him a raving idiot. I'm just glad he's still working since he had that surgery (or so I've heard since I don't watch the news that much). every comedian has their own bombs, and this will be his (possibly, it just depends on how many kids show up)
