I'm not gay or organising a parade for the "SAVE LEO FOUNDATION" but I'm just wondering why everyone hates Leo so much. What has he done wrong? He's been in some awesome movies (Titanic, This Boy's Life, Romeo + Juliet, plus heaps more), gave some great performances (What's Eating Gilbert Grape especially) and wants to help with keeping the environment safe. So what has he done to fuck everyone off so much? He's one of my fave actors, his performances are great. He's been off the scene for a long time now, and I think it was a wise move because people were getting sick of him. But I am eagerly awaiting Gangs of New York.
So, do you like or dispise Leo?

Leo's cool. I don't have anything against him or his flicks. I especially liked THE BASKETBALL DIARIES.

I just don't think he's that good of an actor. I love TITANIC but I think the Academy was right in snubbing him for Best Actor...I didn't like his acting...it wasn't that good.

I liked him, but Titanic ruined the guy and it's ashame. Now, most people just look at him and see a pretty boy actor instead of the talented actor he is.
Underneath it all the guy I think the guy is a pretty good actor.(What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, This Boy's Life, The Basketball Diares, Romeo and Juilet)

I like Leonardo Dicaprio. Granted, his performance in "titanic" was lacking, but did you hear some of those lines he had to say?! I doubt most people could do them justice. I was very impressed with his work in "whats eating gilbert grape" and "basketball diaries." There is really talent hiding beneath his pretty boy looks.

I think the reason why most people dont rat eLeo is because he starred in a movie which made him appealable to young teen girls "titanic".
Because of that factor it wouldnt be cool to say that theres more to him than just eye candy
Personally I think hes a very good actor and he has tried some very diverse roles. Im still not sure about "gangs" tho Ive seen the trailler and Im just not gripped yet tho that may change as the hype machine kicks off

I think he is a very good actor who will be back on the map after Gangs Of New York and Catch Me If You Can come out. With any luck he may be a Oscar hopeful.

He's just a "whatever" to me. A pretty boy who's a decent actor. He was way overexposed for a while, so it was probably a good idea to take some time off. But if he's gay, he should just go ahead and come out. Big name gay people only perpetuate the anti-gay sentiment by constantly denying so they don't hurt their "drawing power" in the movies. Have a set of balls and just admit it.

What are you on about? Who says he was gay? Did I miss something? Can someone please fill me in (chortle chortle)? I thought we were talking about a good actor maligned by the press for his gigantic successs, not outing Hollywood 'pretty boys'. And whilst we're on the subject, does anyone else think that Henry Rollins is a bit 'queer'? No? Weird that...

I'm also quite surprised to hear that Leo is gay, since it's common knowledge that he took off a couple of years after Titanic so that he could bang Gisele and countless of other super hot women who were surrounding him after Titanic. If you read tabloid papers, you should know what I'm talking about, Leo practically spent two years partying and nailing girls.
Anyway, he is a VERY talented actor who got too popular. For one year his face was on the cover of every teen magazine, on every issue. Too much exposure, and people got annoyed of him.
He will be back with a triumph when GONY and CMIYC come out in December.

I don`t hate Leonardo DiCaprio.Maybe you already think -but she`s a girl and that`s explicable. But I like Leonardo DiCaprio only as an actor -honestly said, didn`t he deserve an Oscar nomination for Titanic?I think he was equal, if not better than Kate Winslet in the movie.

Well, this has already been pointed out, but it's because of all the hype that came with Titanic. People just got sick of this guy. I personally thought he was pretty good in the role, although the dialouge needed some tweaking.

PS: I don't give a shit if he's gay or not.

I seriously doubt that Leo is gay. He's been hanging out with Toby Maguire from Spiderman and they have been going out with countless women according to the press.

I'm indifferent to him. it got out of hand when Titanic came out, so I'm glad he took time off. though I am looking forward to GONY

I, agree. It doesn't matter if he's gay or not. Which is exactly the stance he ought to take.

I heard that during the filming of GONY a fan, who happened to be an extra, asked Leo for an autograph and he went crazy. He started yelling that extras weren't supposed to talk to the "stars". The girl was so shook up Cameron Diaz bought her a coffee and had lunch with her(!). If thats true I have no respect for Leo, but a lot for Cameron Diaz...

I've heard a lot of stuff about Leo's attitude and stuff like that, but personally, I wouldn't care at all, so long as he's a good actor --which he is, incidentally. Admittedly, his role in Titanic wasn't that great, but it wasn't as if it was terrible either.
Incidentally, Catch Me If You Can and GONY are two of the movies I have been looking forward to for forever...I honestly can't wait for them to come out...

Despite what you may think, Leo actually is devoted to his fans: http://us.imdb.com/WN?20011017#6
Anyway, I think he's a fabulous actor that got way too much attention after Titanic. He's even stated that in numerous interviews.

I think he's a great actor and has given some wonderful performances. Especially in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and The Basketball Diaries. I didn't like Titanic that much but he was the best thing about it.

I don't especially have a problem with him or anything. But I'm not a fan either, he's just another actor that doesn't get me to see a movie just with his presence.
And about the bad attitude, I heard some stuff about the filming of GONY, where he apparantly didn't bother to hang out with his fellow castmembers on the set. I don't exactly remember the complaint, but it had something to do with that. I wouldn't know.

I dislike him because he lacks coolness, not to mention that everything he does just screams a little fake to me.
I mean, you have good-looking guys like Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Ethan Hawke, guys that make serious movies and take risks and whatnot. And it seems REAL with them. But when DiCaprio does it, it seems like a fake attempt at gaining credibility. That's just me.

I hate him because of his small face compared to the rest of his head. thats the best reason i could think of and its as good as any.

Doesn't take risks? I respect your opinion, but I do very much disagree. I think playing a drug addicted teen and a homo-sexual poet from the 1800's is very risky. Doing Shakespeare is also pretty risky, I think. I don't know about the "real" thing either. I think he makes most of his characters incredibly believable. Eh, I guess it's just a matter of personal taste and what we find real and risky when it comes to this topic.

Leo rocks. He's an EXCELLENT actor, in every movie I've watched of his (I've seen most of them), he's NOT gay, and hearing that he indeed does love his fans makes me respect the guy even more. When I'm a famous director, the dude's gonna be in a movie of mine, maybe even a few, along with Tom Cruise and things will be swell.

Read my post again. I didn't say he didn't take risks. When he does, however, they just seem like he's TAKING A RISK, instead of just choosing what interests him.

I guess you could argue that he did some roles for shock value, cause he DID choose some really risque parts before he recieved the Mega-star staus..(and I always thought it was pretty ridiculous that he plays the "Pretty poet" all the time). there's no arguing that the guy's a talent and he pulled all of those parts (that Pitt and Johnny Depp would never touch, btw) like a charm! The guy's a talent..AND he's really easy to look at too, which is a serrrious bonus..
I'm glad his comeback role's gonna be a good one.

anyone see CELEBRITY?
i think people don't like him because they think it's uncool to like him.
speculation that anyone you don't know is gay, is about the most gay thing you can do -
"Ohhh. Look at Leo. I can picture him having sex with other guys. Can you?"
Common Sense Man

I just don't like him, never have and I really can't say why. Some people you just don't like.
His sex symbol status is beyond me he is a dough boy most of the time and looks more like Opie than Gibson.
But I also dislike J-Lo and Brittany or however you spell her name and most men seem to fawn over those skanks.
If you put any of the above people in a line up and I had no idea who any of them where I still would think they where less than attractive.
And I won't even get into the whole gay or not issue.
Leo is not for me.

Both movies are set to be release on Christmas.

People hate him because they are jealous, he was in the biggest film of all time, many feel the film was so huge because of him and his good lucks, he gained way too much exposure and the adulation of a billion teenage girls... Whamo. Instant hatred.

Sorry if I go a little off topic here, but why doesn't Leo want Don's Plum released?
And The Basketball Diaries was the only film I ever liked him in.
