The guy had box-office sucess in the 80's, but in the 90's his career started to slump, and after the box-office disaster The Adventures Of Pluto Nash, one can only wonder if his career can get back to the way it was. What do you think ?

He will be back. This guy never dies. With The Haunted Mansion coming out next year and Shrek 2 due out the year after, it look's like he will have at the very least one hit in each year.

I'm still hopeing for Beverlly Hills Cop 4 though.

The only thing he's good at any more is voices. I say he should stick to that, because his comedy tricks have been used to death since a long, long time.

although Pluto Nash flopped and some of his other movies have, keep in mind he still has BO draw. Dr Dolittle 2 was successful BO-wise, and Shrek was on of 2001's biggest successes. I don't think he'll fade into oblivion soon, though it would be good to do some more worthwhile movies

I Spy with Owen Wilson is coming out this fall, it'll probably do quite well.

That movie looks like shit to me. Although, any movie with Owen Wilson is never un-bearable.

Hmmm, I like Owen Wilson...have you seen Shanghai Noon, Bottlerocket or Royal Tenenbaums? He's great in all of those - in fact SN is the reason I now see all of his movies...(even the bad Zoolander) http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

So, I'll be checking out I Spy for Owen and also because I really like Eddie Murphy and hope this is his return to the good stuff he used to do...

I thought Showtime was funny as hell. It reminded me a "bit" of Beverly Hills Cop...he even threw that famous laugh in there a few times. seems like his 90's movies are hit and miss...You get Bowfinger but you also get Holy Man. You get Showtime but then you get Pluto Nash.

Take one more look at SLAW's statments. He is actually saying that Owen Willson's movies are never horrible.

The only movie of his that has flopped lately was Pluto Nash.

I also thought Eddie was funny in Showtime.
I am disappointed on the movies he's making.
Many people think he will keep going down hill, but everyone deserves a chance. He just have to find the right movie to put him back on the list. Everyone knows him as funny actor. Maybe he can play a more serious role as a cop. It doesn't hurt to try something different.
