Frankly? Anyone with a brain would refuse to do THE MASK 2 or THE GRINCH 2. For once Jim Carrey uses his brain, don't go blaming him for it. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

i say let carey make up his own mind about what he wants to do. sure, i would have nothing against a MASK 2. the only thing that would compromise this statement, would be if he did a GRINCH 2. the original grinch that he did was one of the worst movies that i've ever seen. it would suck if he did another one.

haven't been there is years, but used to see a ton of movies there. i never liked how there were two seperate theaters there, though -- one in the mall, one outside the mall -- that was always a pain.
it's still the best mall in the area, though -- leagues better than DeSoto Square, or those god awful outlet stores.
first movie I saw in Sarasote: MOBSTERS
last movie I saw in Sarasota: PULP FICTION
You should check out Burns' Court Cinema -- That place is awesome, brother! They show mostly limited release movies, and the whole place is (at least use to) decorated with the old original movie posters. They still have their original Empire Strikes Back poster up, and I think an Indiana Jones poster, and many others.
The theater isn't as nice as the newer ones, but it has lots of style, and it was the only place I could have seen Pricilia Queen of The Desert.
Do they still have the dollar theater ($1.50...) on Fruitville Road across from the Taco Bell.
There was also a $1 theater in Bradenton across from the mall, but I never went there.
So, in conclusion, Jim Carrey should be careful about choosing sequels. He seems to be going for an Oscar bid, and won't get one with a sequel. I bet if he ever did win, that he'd be more likely to do one, but for now, he is probably just focusing on more serious roles.

it's a smart move not to do sequels on occasion since most end up sucking.
*Ahem*

Well Scarface 98.9 Jim Carey is a fabolus actor, and a Mask 2 woul ROCK and make loads of cash if he was in it,but it would SUCK without him, anyway I still will see THE MASK 2 when it comes out.

I think Jim Carrey is very funny and talented. Sometimes sequels are not the right thing to do. If a movie is a hit it should just stay that. Not try for a sequel and overdue it. I like to see actors in different parts not the same character over and over again. I think he is doing a good job of doing that with his movies. I think sometimes directors/producers/writers etc. can't think of anything to make so they take what they made and extend it to a sequel. Instead of taking the time to come up with new material for us movie watchers/collectors.

Whoa! Country1969.Now that makes a lot of sense. You know you writers/producers/directors very well.I agree about how writers are lazy and dont take the time to actually come up with some new material so they extend there last one even longer.
But Ace Ventura when nature calls was better than the first. If Jim Carey is truley that smart he will edit the script so it will be a good sequel but not crappy.
Do I have a point people? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
