I hope Im not the only one that finds Jack Black in no way funny. I think that he tries to shove his comedy down your throat, like a " laugh at this or die " type approach. I thought Saving Silverman was god awful and Orange County was a painful experience to watch. I dont know maybe its just me.I personnally think he should stick to music because his songs are a tleast halfway funny but his movies dont really cut for me.

Check out High Fidelity. That is the only movie so far that he has been funny in. I gave up about halfway through Shallow Hal. And I'm a Tenacious D fan.

Jack Black as an actor?
WOW Just goes to show that HOLLYWOOD will let anyone act in movies anymore, the guy is not funny - I dont know why he is in movies.

I'm somewhat neutral on his acting, but Tenacious D is very good.

I dont have a problem with him being in comedys,he certainly can make me laugh and keep me watching,im a tenacious d listener as well.everyone has opinions.

I hated him in ISKWYDLS...mind you I hated everyone in that movie, well apart from Jennifer Love Hewitt.

He was ok in High Fidelity, in a nerdy way.

He had it, he lost it. Tenacious D suck, too. That fucking song - 'Fuck Her Gently' -has to be one of the most offensive records since 'MMM Bop', and only an asshole, abuse me if you like, I won't listen, would buy this misogynistic SHITE (I'm talking about the single, not the album)!

Dudes, if you take his acting career seriously I think you are giving him even more credit than he would give himself.

His true talent lies in Tenacious D and if you have not seen the HBO shorts you need to hold off on blasting him.

The album is great but until you see the HBO shorts you cannot grasp the whole D.

Just download a couple and enjoy.

I can't make up my mind about him. I thought he was really bad in Shallow Hal, (6/10) and Saving Silverman (3/10) But he was very very funny at the MTV Movie Awards and Orange County (7/10) . So, as an actor I guess I'm not his biggest fan. I do think that is time for him to settle down like Adam Sandler is, and make a serious movie, where his acting career could possibly really blossom.

I'm not so crazy about him. He was annoying in both Saving Silverman (pretty bad) and High Fidelity (pretty decent). I've decided to reserve judgment till I see Orange County and Shallow Hal.

I think Jack Black is pretty funny. My favorite roles of him are weirdly in Mars Attacks & his small band role in Bio Dome

I think he's fairly amusing. Like Common Sense Man said, his acting career is kind of a fluke, and he's getting typecast more and more. It would be even more fun to see him take on a serious role.

It's just a to each his own thing... I like Black but the one I could never understand was Jim Carey... Egad he is awful but people seem to like him.

I totally agree! Jack Black is awful! Shallow Hal was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life! Poor Gwynth Paltrow, why did she ever sign onto that movie?

I've only seen Shallow Hal but to me it was pretty lame. He is ugly and annoying...

I do not find him funny at all.

Common Sense Man is right on the money.

The HBO "Tenacious D" shorts are absolutely hysterical.

What really got me hooked on him is actually his voice and guitar playing. He's a HUGE talent, but I also think he's very funny.

He only had like, two lines in ISKWYDLS, so I wouldn't really count that.

He was wonderful in High Fidelity, very funny.

Huge fan here....

Jack Black is the man! His band Tenacious D rocks and he made two otherwise bad movies, Saving Silverman (6/10), and Orange County (6/10 also), worth watching. He is funnier than Chris Farley in my opinion too. Has he ever hosted SNL? Because I think he'd be great on it...

By the way, I know a kid at my school who looks and acts just like Jack Black, except he's tall.
