OK. I used to be a big fan. His music was fairly original for rap, and he seemed like a cool guy. Best of all he didn't bite his tongue. He told it like it was. And I liked that. ...For a while. HOWEVER as denis leary said(in reference to eminem) a few nights ago on Conan; "some people in this business just have their heads firmly up their asses". And then I realiazed how true it was. He picks fights with people over shit just because. He makes his life seem like it's been a huge trial(which he's glorifying in a movie) when really it could have been allot worse. This guy has an endless bank account, fans world wide, and a huge amount of success. And yes I know that doesn't ensure happiness but the man just seems way to fuckin pissed for the level he's at. Come on man, chill out. You make fun of moby in your songs but when it's brought up by a hand puppet at the VMA's you loose your cool. You deliver no real message at all in your song white america. And you are relentlously an ass hole to any and all. I really don't like him. Do you?

Ohhh don't even get me fuckin' started on that peice of fuckin' shit. I hate that son of a bitch with a strong passion. His music sucks and he makes money off of making fun of other people. Seriously, why in the fuck would you make fun of Christopher Reeve in your songs??!! The guy is fuckin' paralyzed, I'm sure he doesnt want to be like that. And what kinda fuckin' sick bastard talks about fucking his mother and then killing his wife with the assistance of his daughter.
He talks like he's not a afraid to say anything to anybody. But you just fuckin wait...he'll say the wrong shit to the wrong person and he'll end up like Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG. The thing is I cant believe how many fans this guy has! What the hell could people possible see in his music (If you want to call it music)? I see no pleasure in listening to his music....I can't see the pleasure of listening to any rap music (but thats another story altogether). Bottom Line: I fucking hate Eminem.

It wouldn't be any fun if he told Moby what a nice, bald man he is.

EMINEM: thumbs up, biatch.

Though I'm not a fan of any of their music, Eminem, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot and so on are the most necessary thing in the world. It doesn't matter if you love or loathe them, the fact is you have an opinion...and that is better than being apathetic.

I think the guy is all words and no action I mean when Triumph came up to him his posse(as Conan called it). backed him up.

I dig eminem, but at times the motherfucker's just too hard to be behind.

Eminem, as a wise Schmoe was quoted, is nothing but a criminal who can talk really fast. The ultimate loser, his songs just talk about him being controversial. That's some artistry. I was happy to see the bastard booed at the VMAs, I hope that becomes a trend. People...people who insult other people...are the loneliest asses in the world.

No offense Nate but you just totally did the thing you said was pathetic. You said that people who call people names are the loneliest asses in the world. By calling those people "lonely asses" you became one of them, did you mean to do that? Like sarcasm or something?

Nice lil catch but he just meant that people who are constantly throwin punches pursue are very very lonely. Such as good ol eminem. But still very witty catch.

i think the guy needs to grow up, you got money , fame, women, and the ego to go along with it, the only thing moby did was give his opinion on emenim, an opinion everbody has a right to say, right or wrong, its their opinion, its ok for eminem to diss and say this or that about someone else, but the minute you say something not even to the extent of being dissrespectfull, the guy starts unloading, i agree with the someone said earlier, if he doesn't watch out we might have another tupac or biggie tragedy, i guess he probably thought he was "keeping it real" , in the end its all shock value, the more you try to stand out the more chances you got to sell records, next you know he will be dissin his second cousins or something. like i said before the guy needs to grow up.

Nate6
09-07-2002, 07:58 AM
Oh come on, Jackson, I'm not that stupid. I thought people would understand what I was trying to say. I'm making a point that those people who insult other people can just as easily be insulted themselves. I'm not "becoming one of them," I'm showing that the mirror has two faces. But if you think I'm "pathetic," or that what I said was "pathetic," then that's your opinion.

And thank you ninja for helping me out. Here's your money. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Although I despise rap music, I like Eminem's songs. He's probably the only rap artist I like. They guy has got a lot of talent. He can rap really well and he makes some good tunes. But his lyrics are what I like best.

There are so many great great bands out there that don't sell enough records and then just stop making music. It just pisses me off so much. Now, granted Eminem is there at the top of the charts, the rest of it is filled with mindless manufactured pop bands and generic cliched rock groups. So when Eminem is dissing these boy bands, I identify with his frustation.

Somebody needs to get through to the idiot who is buying the latest Limp Bizkit or Britney Spears CD just because its playing on the radio. Maybe, just maybe, someone will listen to an Eminem song and realise how commercial, contrived and downright awful those bands are. And instead of buying their crappy CD, he or she will pick up something original.

Oh, who the bloody hell cares? See, you guys are falling into exactly the trap he wants you to. I happen to find his songs funny, but I don't run out there buying them. And I don't waste my time discussing whether or not he's misogynistic, homophobic or whatever. He says these things to generate publicity, and it's working like a charm. Like has been said before, when you are famous like that, there is no negative publicity. I think he went to the Madonna school of population manipulation.

you guys?

anyway. it's still funny that he starts fights with little girls, and is considered a hard ass.

i agree with you straight up. he has a great gig going. he can do what he wants and any negativity that is derived from it adds to the fuel. he also has that creed that no one can speak ill of him because they don't know him. right....

his songs aren't that funny when compared to BEASTIE BOYS "PAULS BOUTIQUE", or hell.... even DJ JAZZY JEFF AND THE FRESH PRINCE.....

Did anyone see that pro-Napster flash piece where it showed Dr. Dre whispering into Eminem's ear, telling him what to sing, and think?

I think ole Slim is great!

And all you who are getting wrapped up in who he supposedly really is are missing the point.

He is an entertainer period not some role model or great world leader.

He is simply one smart mofo who has taken advantage of his talents.

No one knows what these entertainers are really like when they get home and are all alone.

And in the world of Rap at least his lyrics are smart and fun to listen to, not like most other rap, which in my opinion is becoming cliched. How many times can you rap about being a gangsta and killing people and having your Ho's suck you while you smack your bitches and get them to give you their money.

He is all about making people notice him, good or bad, that sells his albums, so wake up people if you really think he is an idiot ignore him and stop generating so much free press for him.

Out...........................

just like Marilyn Manson.

Bob - I would hardly call talking shit about the guy on a private bulletin board "generating free press" -- when other entertainers go on about him, that's one thing. When schmoes go on about him -- that doesn't warrant the comparison. Someone asked for an opinion about Slim Shady, and we offered one. I don't buy into his rap as much as you. I don't think talking shit about him is doing him any good. If he writes "BubbaStrangelove" into one of his raps -- whatever....

I know that's Slim's favorite fall back ("Y'all just helping me sell more records")

But here that just doesn't hold true. This isn't MTV.....

for some reason, I can picture Eminem getting pissed over even a parody!

"Wuz up with that bitch Weird Al? Wherez he get off? He don't even know me! I alreay wrote a rap about "Weird Al". It goes:

Yo curly headed mofo you don't know me
As mentioned in all of my songs my names Shady
I'm gonna wrap that accordian around your person
Have you noticed I can only rap in first person?
Yo Al, why don't eat shit and die
Yo Al, you ain't that funny of a guy

Eminem is a child, yet to go through puberty!! The kind of guy who sits in the corner of the school room, craving pity from the rest of the kids. Only to stab them in the back and tell their sworn enemies what a bitch they are in the next scene!

I detest this pussy with a vengeance!

If I could have a fight with any celebrity, it would be Eminem. I'd show him what true pain is!!!

I have been thinking about him lately (since the VAM-s).And these are some of my thoughts:

1.I really used to like him.I think his album deserved the Grammy for best album for 2000.Honestly, think about the album -that was the bestselling album of the year, the most popular.I don`t think there`s message in his music, but the album was cool and fresh and had a style.

2.The new album is cool too.But it`s not that fresh and the style is somehow old.The truth is that rap music is dying slowly (at least according to me) and rock is borning again (but I may be wrong). However, the album has its own great qualities.

3.He is a real entertainer.Just forget for a second that he`s mean towards some persons. He is great on stage.

4.You don`t think he`s really that bad as he seems, do you?He loves his daughter so much, and supports all of his friends. He can`t be that bad.

5.I don`t think he makes his music with a message, I think he makes it for fun and entertainment. (he said that in one interview a while ago)

So, these were some of my thoughts on the issue.Believe me, I don`t approve his behaviour.Besides, I`m a Moby fan.But I think the guy is only confused. And you know what?I think he really behaves like Will Hunting.

By the way, I still like him.

Hmmm, some very good perspectives brought up there, I don't like Eminem but I used to like the music, as a musician he's brilliant and somewhat revolutionary as a person though, he seems to believe in his own press too much. I mean what's the point? He just strikes me as the sort of person that if I saw them in the street I'd punch them in the face. Maybe he is just a character and he's really a nice guy but I don't know why I have to put up with him 24/7, fucking Eminem this, slim shady that. Who gives a fuck? I don't care what he says and who he says it to, if he sings about fucking my mum I couldn't care less because I know that he is just attempting to be controversial.

In my mind Marshall Mathers started off as a sort of weird al type character in that he was in fact skitting at rap music, he was an exaggeration and as such a joke, but now I think the dude needs to sit bav=ck and think "where is my career going?" being a knob-head only gets you so far in the music industry, if he doesn't move on to anything fresh then he's going to be the very character which future parodies will skit. (what do they call parodies of parodies?). Anyway, check out a song called 'Stanta' off of Winmx or Kazaa or some shit like that, it's by Chris Moyles and it's kickass.

<OB>

p.s. I have probably contradicted myself several times over in the above ramble, it is as such a ramble and goes where it wants to go, I had no power over it.

BubbaStrangelove
09-10-2002, 01:05 PM
like you Bob, I'm going to probably sound like I'm contradicting myself, but will offer a bit of positive response to the guy...

He has a presence. Whether it be good or bad, is up for debate. (thought i lean to bad) -- the point is, he has a knack for getting heard. (thanks Dr. Dre...)

because of his presence, I think he has a career in acting, but not music. I am genuinely eager to see how 8 Mile will turn out.

he has reasons for saying the things he does. No one would just make stuff like that up. He gets credit for showing some humor here-and-there, but much everyone else who complains alot, it get tends to get old.

his grandma still loves him.

Especially when it is about the same topics time and time again. His hypocritical rhymes are hilarious.

''MTV tried to shut me down''

Bullshit, MTV gave him more publicity than just about any other person that ever lived, He himself even says that it ''Just sells more records'', So where does this perspective come from? He's just complaining for the sake of complaining.

I hate Eminem. For one he always says "radio won't even play my jam" or "try to shut me down on mtv." Yet they constantly give him awards and he is played every 3 hours at least. Plus he tries to act tough by picking on Moby. Moby is a scrony bald guy. I'd like to see him diss Kerry King (guitarist of SLAYER) or Phil from PANTERA and get the shit kicked out of him. And all of his songhs are about him... "My name is", "The Way I am" "Without me" "Real Slim Shady" just to name a few. He ain't the most vulgar artist everyone makes him seem. Cannibal Corpse comes to mind as way more vulgar IMO. I wish he goes away like Briteny Spears, He is just waaay overrated

Some great points have been tossed around.
Yeah Em's got a fucking egocentric attitude and won't quit with the self pitying songs. Yeah he's gone down hill since day one. Yeah he picks fights with little girls and 36 year old faggots(just kidding). I really just don't like the man anymore. Eminem, slim shady, Marshal Mathers, whatever, you have lost a fan. Pull your blond head out of your ass.

And BTW I loved the point bout how he says they tried to shut him down on Mtv and the radio won't even play his jam when both of those have done nothing but promote him. Speaking of which Without me was played continuously for 5 days on 107.9. Don't ask why.
