That whole SOF soundtrack is great, except maybe the Fabulous Thunderbirds track. That woman has an incredible voice. Nowhere Fast is also a great tune.

The Talking Heads rule!! The Sand in the Vaseline compilation album is a must own.

Damn, Adam. The B 52's are another one of my favorites. And as great as some of their old stuff is, Cosmic Thing moght be their best album. The Deadbeat Club, Roam, Channel Z, Love Shack etc. are all great tunes. But their old stuff definitely jams also.

My god!!! I just looked at your profile. You were born in 1985?! Cool. I love to see young people appreciating the music of my generation. Streets of fire came out the year before you were born. Definitely a hidden gem. The 80's get trashed alot for their music, but there was some damn good music made then. Cheers to you!

Truer words were never spoken, Grebdron. :)

STREETS OF FIRE is a great film with an even better soundtrack, and yeah, I find that I enjoy older music more than modern stuff. So far, I'm the only one I know of the students at my school who's even heard of The Ramones. Heathens, all of 'em.

"Tiny Dancer" by Elton John.

Now this is a weird one. I fucking hate Elton John (or at least I thought I did). Then one day i'm sitting watching my brand new DVD of Cameron Crowe's brilliant "Almost Famous" and this great fucking song is playing. I had to check the credits at the end to find out who it was. I was kind of taken aback to discover that it was "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. Fucking ace song and the scene in the movie during which it plays in the background is just one of many great scenes in the movie. So my opinion of Elton John has somewhat changed. It seems he wasn't always shit.

how are u all listening to 4 or 5 songs at a time?

are you all mixing it up on turntables, or what?

are we just making lists of songs we want people to know we listen to, or are we talking about "at the moment" like in a grander scheme. Like a moment is more than just right now, it's a place in your life, or something...

Bowiee - I don't have that tribute. A lady friend made a CD of Mercury Rev songs for me when I heard a song I liked on the Focus soundtrack.

Would you beleive it Mr Kaufman...These 5 songs are my current play-list...Seriously!!!

Stevie and "Sir Duke" is always on there mind you...and the obligatory Badly Drawn Boy...but I haven't listened to "Your Ghost" for quite some time, I thought I might throw it on there alongside "Patio Song" (Gorky's Zycotic Mynci)...2 old faithful's!

Where is fucking Pulp mate....I've had a good butcher's...NOT A ONE! What's all that about? A little bit of "TV Movie" or "Dishes" would've fitted in perfectly amongst that little lot!

Anyway...some great choices Reigh, as per usual!

Hello, BCV..

Well is there anything me and you don't share in common?

Your Ghost has long been one of my favourite tunes, and appears on every compilation tape I ever make (alongside the very fantabulous Nina Simone in some capacity).

As for Pulp, well, I have to be honest and say that the only Pulp CD lying out it's box at the moment is Babies, mainly due to the fact that I'm working a lot at the moment and can watch MTV2 in the office (heh-heh)..

In a Rob Gordon moment of detachment, send me a private e-mail and I'll make you a tape (I just did this for Grebdron, and he should be recieving that this week) of fabulous tunes...

All my love as usual...

I'm listening to Alicia Keys - "Songs in a Minor". I love all of the songs, I enjoy the second half of the album even more than the first.
