Has anyone read this book by Chuck Palahniuk? I ordered it earlier today and wanted some opinions
I liked all the four Palahniuk books I've read (not read Lullaby yet), and I'd say Survivor was probably my least favourite. I still thought it was good, but wasn't as funny as Choke and didn't have the same impact on me as Fight Club. Was enjoyable enough, but was a bit predictable, unlike Invisible Monsters :o

I liked it a lot one of the best books I've read. It has a very unique premise, and is written very well. However I like it less than Fight Club.

Some of the theories Palahiuk fans have come upw ith are really intressting over at chuckpalahniuk.net. they really make you think, makign it not os predictable after all! wish i had money to buy lullaby, might have to wait a while, i'm 4th in line at th elibrary for it, but i can't wait that fucking long!

I finished it not too long ago. It was odd, but very entertaining, although some parts got confusing at the end. Get's my thumbs up

I loved every bit of this book! I found it to be very very original!
Just the way the book starts out is just awesome, with the main character talking to the black box of the plane! Awesome.
My thoughts on it is that Chucks talking about how religion can be very constrictive and hold people back from experiencing real life. And like Fight Club it also makes its comment on consumerism and how the media can control people. Its a very interesting read.
I like it just as much as Fight Club.
Invisible Monsters was also very good with a kick ass ending that will take you by surprise. It talks about vanity and the empitness of trying to be beautiful on the outside...and a monster on the inside. Some of the situations presented on Invisible Monsters are really fucked up, so be on the look out for that but if youve read Survivor, then I guess youll be ready for this. Check it out!

Survivor is by far the best book I have ever read, I've read it four times in one year and could read it 3 more times. If you haven't read it, get your ass to the mall or wherever and buy it!

**Spoilers for Choke***
When Victor believe's he is the son of Christ, and goes to tell his mother that he knows.... cracked me up :D Read it once more straight after and started laughing at it again. Glad I was reading it in the house, or I'd have looked quite the fool. An Apriil fool, as it were.

Hey, Mick. Whereabouts in G-town are you from?
I live in Clarkston, which is just outside the Glasgow boundary on the south side of the city.

Yeah, I've been to Clarkston. Ever come over to the East coast (where the classy people live)?
Uh...back on topic. Yeah, read more Palahniuk. Good stuff.

The cool thing about getting Choke was that the clerk saw I was a Palahniuk fan and gave me Lullaby, free of charge :D

Scarface you lucky bastard! I had to pay 13.00 bucks for it!
But if you ask me they were very well spent! I love Chucks work!
Im just finishing reading Choke, and I agree in saying that it is his funniest one. Its not as mean and dark as Fight Club or Survivor. Even though Choke is a little more light hearted, Pahlaniuks wit and satire is clearly still there.
Really funny is probably not the right word...but its the first word that comes to mind..:D
