The best IMHO is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I pretty much think that the books get better as they go along, as the first was the worst (though it was still good) and the fourth is incredible.

I love the ending to the fourth, as I'm very into open endings, but I just wish she would hurry up get it out.

The 733-page epic fourth book, The Goblet of Fire, is definitely my favorite. Everything comes full circle in the novel, setting up what will hopefully be a great Book 5. I never was a big fan of The Chamber of Secrets though.

I'll rank them:

1- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
2- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
3- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
4- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

All excellent though....

PRISONER OF AZKABAN is my definite favorite, with GOBLET OF FIRE coming in as a close second. But all of the four books are excellent, no questions asked.

Goblet of Fire is one of the best books I've ever read. The others are not far behind either. This is such a great series.

1. Goblet of Fire
2. Prisoner of Azkaban
3. Sorcerer's Stone
4. Chamber of Secrets

I agree with Logan; Prizoner of Azkaban is definitely my favorite of the series. I think it was the most significant book out of all of them and it was more centered around Harry's family than the others. Second would have to be Goblet of Fire. I've never read a 700+ page book so fast. (Sure, it's very easy and barely has any big words at all, but it's also very entertaining.) Third is Sorcerer's Stone, the one that introduced it all. Last on my list would be Chamber of Secrets--my least favorite of them all. The ending I thought was slightly disappointing.

PS. Fans of Harry Potter should read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman (made up of the books The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass). Similar to Harry Potter and highly recommended. Don't be fooled by the little girl with the cute polar bear on the cover--this is NOT a kiddie book, no more than Harry Potter, and it is surprisingly more violent than Potter. Read it while you're waiting for Harry Potter 5.

I agree with the majority on PoA. It was truly an exciting story with twist and turns in every page. GoF is a very close second with more interesting characters and excellent conclusion.

It's always hard for me to choose, but my favorite is probably Prisoner of Azkaban, simply because it's the one that made me an obsessive lunatic -- err -- got me hooked. ;)

My favorite scene, however, is the Graveyard Scene in GOF. The finest 150 pages in the series thus far.

Order Of Phoiniex.

Def the most mature books. I dont know why people complain about his portryal in the book. Hes suffered 4 different near death experiences and saw a friend die. Wouldnt that make you a tad bit testy.

1. THE GOBLET OF FIRE
2. THE PRISONER OF AZKBAN
3. THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
4. THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE
5. THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

An amazing series. It's practically a tie for #1, but GoF only just beats out PoA to number one because of its epic nature and because its longer and scarier!
