I know I do...

The stuff just plain-out gets on my nerves. The guys/gals talk so fast I can't understand what they're saying. It is mostly all about sex and drugs. And...how do you dance to this shit!?

ROCK FUCKIN ON!!!

Maybe it's just me...But I hope not.

I agree, most Rap/Hip-Hop is soo stupid I just don't fuckin get it.

Most common things to see in Rap Videos

"Black Bootie"
"Drugs"
"Weed"
"Sex"

Probably like in every damn video!

Y'know, rap was fun back in the days of Tone Loc and Young M.C., but the gangsta "If you fuck with my bitch I'll put a cap in your black ass" movement soured my enjoyment of it.

I don't HATE it. But I agree some of its pretty horrible. All the gansta rap and politics and sides and gangs. It just seems so retarded. And people who buy into and actually choose sides are ignorant. But still I don't mind some rap.

I like hip-hop, but I hate rap. I think rap is just talking over music, and last I knew, a song needs a good voice and rythm. Two things rap don't have.

Oh, and I also hate rap because of rappers: they're agressive, they're show-offs, they're loud-mouths, they're dicks...and they make me hate what they do simply for what they are.

Just wannna say something about that.

I know why you mean the talent thing, it doesnt take much to rhyme, and not a lot of time (lol....that was a rhyme...and the rapping cnversation......ahhh forget it)

But with the heart put into it and setting off emotions there are SOME rap songs that do that. I emphasize the SOME because there isn't many, the first that comes to mind is wyclef jean's song "daddy" about how he lost his dad. And also "knocking on heavens door" so technically you are wrong about that. However, the gangsta dudes dont mean anything, like dr. dre and busta rhymes and such.

just like rock and roll, there are good rap acts, and bad rap acts.

come on -- are COUNTING CROWS really better than BEASTIE BOYS?

I don't think so.

and Movie-Maniac 8, your post seriously cracks me up, because it sounds just like the parents in Rock N' Roll High School when they are talking about The Ramones.

"Damn rock music! The guys and gals sing so loudly that I can't understand what they're saying. It is mostly all about sex and drugs. And...how do you dance to this shit!? Give me Pat Boone any day of the week!"

First off I have to stick up for hip hop.

Yes I agree about some points but you're missing out on some good music.

I have an eclectic hip hop taste, I hate Nelly, jay Z, Neptunes and most of the hip hop on the radio,

I like Necro, J Zone, Non Phixion, Mos Def, RJD2, Copywrite.

if you heard some of that it might change your mind.

Download these tunes and let me know if it changes your mind...

J ZONE "BUM BITCH BALLAD"
RJD2 & COPYWRITE "JUNE"
NON PHIXION "THE CIA IS STILL TRYING TO KILL ME"
MOS DEF "MATHEMATICS"
COPYWRITE "FIRE IT UP"
CAGE "AGENT ORANGE"
NECRO "UNDERGROUND"

Hell you might be pleasantly surprised.

ROCK IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!

I HATE RAP/HIP HOP IT BLOWS SO BAD!

rap is all about guys gloating about how much ppl pay them, like them, how easy their friends are, how fake they and their friends are

ANYONE AGREE?

Yeah I would concur with that. When I was in high school Vanilla Ice and 2 Live Crew were the big things. I think that turned me off to rap forever.;) Then a short time later those two little Criss-Cross kids came along and I'd had all I could stand. I was uncool for listening to KISS, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, ect... Go figure huh. Where are Vanilla Ice and Luke Skywalker today?:D

I am big a rap/hip-hop fan. I don't know why I like it so much, but there's just something about it. Must be the lyrics, beats, rhymes, and the rappers themselves. I don't care what anybody thinks, but Rap and Hip-Hop is some great and fun stuff to listen to!

the same could be said for rock bands like Poison "Ain't Lookin For Nothin (But a Good Time)" and RATT "Way Cool Jr."

You guys are being narrow-sighted.

Sure, some rap is "all about" what you all are saying it's about, but some rock is also "all about" that too.

Like with people, you can't lump everything together into one catagory.

PapaJupe2K -- Yeah, KISS, Aerosmith, and the Stones are still around (whether they are still welcomed is another debate) -- and yes, Vanilla Ice and 2 Live Crew have disappeared, but that doesn't mean rap music sucks.

Whatever happened to Warrant, MC5, Damn Yankees, and Vixen? How would you feel if, being a rock fan, someone painted a picture of ALL of rock music, and only used those examples?

Really people. don't be narrow-minded, because I'm sure that there is also a lot you all could learn about rap AND rock.

I know, those were just some tongue in cheek comments made about some of the worst rap I remember from back in the day. I don't hate it all.

Uhggg, unfortunately I do. I haven't been able to get that "Pop Goes the Weasel" song out of my memory bank. My best friend in high school listened to all the above mentioned artists. Man I gotta add that 3rd Base song to my shitlist.
