I noticed there seem to be some Weezer fans on this board, so I thought I'd start up this topic, since I'm a die-hard fan myself.
So, what are everyones' favorite Weezer albums/songs etc.?
And do you think the new stuff is as good as the older songs?
Myself, I liked The Green Album better than Maladroit, but Maladroit was still a friggin' great album.
My favorite Weezer song of them all : The Good Life
Favorite Album : Pinkerton (though The Blue Album is very close to it)
Favorite songs of each album :
The Blue Album - Say it Ain't So
Pinkerton - The Good Life
The Green Album - Photograph
Maladroit - Slob
They're also releasing a new EP, The Lion and the Witch soon, but I think that only has some live material on it. I might still get it, though.
Discuss away...

Die-Hard weez fan myself, it's nice to see this board is full of them. Personally, I think the older stuff is better, however, I still like Maladroit, and the Green has it's moments, but I mean, Pinkerton and Blue? That's hard to touch. It's nice to see a progression twoards more personal lyrics from Rivers.
Favorite song off each:
Blue : Only In Dreams
Pinkerton : Tired of Sex
Green : Photograph
Maladroit : Fall Together leading into Possibilities
'The Lion and the Witch' hits indie record stores today, and I'm going as soon as I get the chance today to pick it up. Their live shows rule, have you been to one Arto? And plus, they are making like....12,000, so it will be a collectors item of sorts. By the way, favorite album is...depending on mood Pink or Blue of course.

Never saw 'em live. They were in the country last Summer (2001), but I didn't make it to the festival they played at. But I'm hoping they'll come here next year to promote the new album (which they say is the best stuff Rivers ever wrote...)
I'm not really sure if the Lion and the Witch will even be released here, and since I live in a rural area, so I'm not even near any good record shops...But I'm still hoping I'll get my hands on it sometime.

I was in L.A. back in May (what a great rhyme) and they were playing at the Whiskey on Sunset Blvd. I wanted to go, but it sold out so fast we were stuck outside listening with about 200 other unfortunates. Stuck around long enough to yell at Rivers Cuomo when he came out, and he momentarily glanced at us!:)

I'm not a huge Weezer fan, but I bought a couple of their singles and liked 'em. They're good.

The Blue album and Pinkerton are two of my favorite albums of all time. If I had to choose, though, I'd probably pick Blue.

I have yet to hear Pinkerton and the Green album but I like Maladroit better than Blue. The songs are better structured and the tunes have more feeling than those on blue.
I like In the Garage as their best tune though, fuckin amazing!

I love Weezer. Word. They're a kick-ass band with a bunch of kick-ass songs.
My favorite album is The BLUE Album.
My favorite Weezer songs are:
Say It Ain't So
My Name Is Jonas
The World Has Turned
Undone
Hashpipe
Goin Surfin'
Yeah!
Hell Yeah!
Yeah, I'm definitely a big fan of them.
My favorite album? A tie between Blue and Pinkerton, although I find myself listening to Pinkerton more often.
My favorite songs:
Blue-Buddy Holly, Sweater, My Name is Jonas
Pinkerton-Why Bother?, Tired of Sex, Across the Sea
Green-Hash Pipe, Crab
Maladroit-Dope Nose, Fall Together, December(suprisingly sweet song)
I saw them at Red Rocks this summer, and it was awesome. They started playing right when the sun went down, and didn't stop rocking for a while.
My only two problems:
A-Show was only 90 minutes
B-Opening bands(sparta&Dashboard Confessional) sucked.

I think Weezer ranks up there with Pulp,The White Stripes, possibly The Beatles but they are one of my favourite bands.I am not offically a DIE-hard fan.But trust me I am getting there.I'm a fan of The Green Album.I think Keep Fishin' is a great tune,A Weezer classic.
I think the new stuff is just as good as the older stuff.Although,I wasn't a huge fan of Hashpipe. But these lads can still be pretty original with their new songs.
Weezer......

I am going to a costume party tonight as Rivers, hopefully I pull it off decently enough. SO by that statement, you can clearly tell I love Weezer.
Albums in order of preference: 1.Pinkerton
2.Maladroit
3.Blue
4.Green
Songs per album: Blue - Only In Dreams and Say It Ain't So
Pinkerton - Across The Sea and Tired Of Sex
Green - Don't Let Go and Crab
Maladroit - Love Explosion and Keep Fishin'
There isn't a song I dislike, I love Weezer almost as much as I love pie, and boy do I like pie.

I went to a Weezer show at the Concord Pavilion with Dashboard and Sparts there as well, I actually ended up enjoying Dashboard more than Weezer. I didn't like weezer as a live band, or maybe it was just becuase i was like 3miles from the stage.
my favorite weezer song is Across the Sea
favorite all around cd is Maladroit.

I've been listening to Pinkerton a whole lot lately. Blue used to be my favorite but Pinkerton has taken that place. I mean, its such a personal album and there isn't a single bad song on it. My favorite moments off the album :
Tired Of Sex
"Whooaa" [[favorite song from the CD]]
Getchoo
"You think that I'm some kind of freak, uh huh"
No Other One
"Nobody knows me like her
Nobody knows her like me
We're all we've got and we don't want to be alone"
Why Bother?
"Why bother
It's gonna hurt me
It's gonna kill when you desert me"
Across The Sea
"I wonder how you touch yourself
And curse myself for being across the sea"
The Good Life
"everything I need
Is denied me
Everything I want
Is taken away from me
But who do I got to blame
Nobody but me"
El Scorcho
"I wish I could get my head outta the sand
'cause I think we'd make a good team
And you would keep my fingernails clean
But that's just a stupid dream that I won't realize
'cause I can't even look in your eyes without shakin'"
Pink Triangle
"How stupid is it
I can't talk about it
I gotta sing about it
And make a record oh"
Falling For You
"And I do like you, you're the lucky one
No I'm the lucky one"
Butterfly
"I told you I would return
When the robin makes his nest
But I ain't never coming back
I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sorry"
It has to be one of the greatest albums of all time. I know I'm ignoring the other albums right now, but then this reply would be too long. Just wanted to focus on Pinkerton.

blah, u should stop saying silly things like that. just because u personally dislike a band, doesnt mean they should be killed now does it?
weezer have inspired a hell of a lot of bands, and are probably the best pop/rock band out there.
you be nice and respect then, and maybe back up ur extreme opinion with some reasoning...

I was watching MTV2 tonight when the video for Say It Ain't So came on. That is such a good fucking song. Weezer are a really fine band. I can feel an entire weekend of Weezer devotion coming on. It's time to listen to all four albums back to back methinks.

I still haven't managed to pick up the new dvd, Video Capture Device...Has all the videos, live footage and commentary tracks. It should certainly be worth the purchase if I could just squeeze the cash out of my account for it.
But I'll get it, dammit...Something to help the wait for the new album.

The DVD is definitely worth the purchase. When it came out it was only $10. There is a ton of stuff on there too.

I love Weezer! Good to see so many other fans on the boards.
I really do love Pinkerton. But for my favorite song off of it I find it near impossible to choose between El Scorcho and The Good Life.
So...
Blue: Say it aint So
Green: Island in the sun
Pinkerton: el scorch/good life
maladroit: dope nose

I am a huge Weezer fan; seen them in concert and own 4 of their CDs and the DVD. IMO, their best album was Pinkerton, then Blue, then Maladroit, then Green.
Blue - Only in Dreams
Pinkerton - Across the Sea
Green - Simple Pages/Knock-Down Drag-Out
Maladroit - Love Explosion/Dope Nose
Easily one of my 5 favorite bands...

Oh weezer, weezer, weezer...
The blue album came out and I was a fan. Pinkerton came out and I was a worshipper. Then...nothing. I waited (along with many other fans) for five years, treating wispers of new music and tours like the word of god and nothing. Then, in 2001, they realeased the Green Album: a mediocre effort at best (all show, no substance) that was only 28 GODDAMN MINUTES LONG!! . I tried to love it, I listened to it many times, but each time I heard a mockery, a shadow of a band I once loved. I still love The Blue Album and Pinkerton, but I think the band sucks ass.
(sorry about the rant)
