NIRVANA : If I could only turn back time to when they last came to my town and I said I'll see them next time around. "Sheds a tear"

Also Pearl Jam before they stopped doing big shows.

Sublime. I heard them for the first time last year and fell in love with their music. Sadly I will never have the chance to see them live or even hear new music from them.

Nirvana definately! They are my favorite band of all time. The closest I got to seeing them live was the concert video that someone bought for me...

I would have loved to see Nirvana most off all. They are the greatest band in my mind and I would have loved to mosh during Negative Crep or Scentless Aprentice, Or smoke some fine gange during a nice intimate moment like during Polly or Sappy.

On the other hand, Seeing Sublime would have been an amazing experience. I love that band!

And last but not least, Alice in Chains. I used to get by saying "They'll get back together, make an album and tour. Yhen I can See them." Well I guess you know what happend next.

Its a bummer man, a total bummer.

1. Jimi Hendrix, especially w/ the Band of Gypsies, late '69 / early '70.

2. King Crimson. The John Wetton/Bill Bruford 1973-74 version.

3. Miles Davis. Most anytime in his career, but especially w/ the late 50's group w/ John Coltrane and/or the middle 60's Hancock/Carter/Shorter/Williams outfit.

4. The Doors (preferably on one of Jim's more lucid nights)

5. Charlie Parker (preferably on one of Charlie's more lucid nights...)

The Who- '60s early '70s, they were kind of the forerunners of heavy metal, I don't think people probably knew what to make of it. Gene Simmons said in an interview the Who were playing "heavy metal beatles":D .

The Doors
Jimi Hendrix
Smashing Pumpkins
Black Sabbath

Well...i'd have loved to have seen Nirvana. I know I did see them but i'd pay a small fortune to see The Jesus & Mary Chain again.

On a non-musical note I really wish I had seen Bill Hicks perform while he was alive.

BCV...you are obviously a fan of the great man. Have you heard his Rant In E-Minor Live CD? It's painful and funny and painfully funny. It was recorded not long before he died and the level of vitriol he manages to project at a wide variety of deserving targets during this performance is beyond belief. Oh...and have you read the American Scream biography? I've been thinking about picking it up but I don't want to waste money on a hack job.

*tear*

I'm actually listening to my Jebus NOW...Rant in E-minor, and I'm on "Easter"...the "Where did you get your avatar?" thread prompted me.

"Mummy, I woke up today...and then I saw a Lincoln log in me sock-drawer!

I've got AMERICAN SCREAM also..the only book to make me fucking WEEP in a public place (the bus no less), and it's quite fab' in parts but "hackish" also. I'll send you my copy if you're not proud :D.

Okey cokey...I'm off to top meself, the man IS GOD in my eyes.

PS: Serious offer there Psycho...I'd be more than happy to post my well-thumbed copy.

The Who, back when Moon and Entwhistle were still alive. I saw them last year, a few weeks after Entwistle's death. It was a great show, but it probably would have been better with those two.

The Smashing Pumpkins

My favorite band ever. I had a lot of opportunities to go see them live, but never did. I kick myself for that. Led Zeppelin comes in at a close second, but they were before my time.
