Next time you make a thread big boy, make sure you give your opinion on the matter, or at least write a better introduction than "Well?"

Anyway, I don't like most of them. I can't stand games like Final Fantasy, where you can buy some crazy sword for 99999999999 gp, where you fight random batlles, through countless menus, sitting back while the SUPER ULTIMA MAGIC 999999 is being cast, where pretty much of the gameplay resides in building up levels to be able to beat the final boss.

However, I love games like Baldur's Gate. You can actually control all of your characters and order them to do almost anything. Also, the realism is pretty important to me. Unlike FF, when you cast a fireball or some shit, MOVE YOUR ASS. It doesn't hurt only bad guys.

I hate traditional RPGs, like the Final Fantasy series, mainly because of all the random battles and the turn-based combat. I want to actually attack people and not order party members around, and then all the random battles make it about a million times worse. I remember playing FF3 and it took like an hour to rescue a person from a burning house because of all the random battles. I do enjoy the character development and the story. But the stories are always save the world from the most evil powers in the universe.

But I do love action RPGs like Deus Ex, you gain skills by completing objectives and upgrade stuff by finding upgrades. You have full comtrol over everything. Plus Deus Ex has one awesome story.

Yes Jewbo i love them too! but i must stress the statement you have said of FF7 being the greatest ever, it is your opinion.

Here is my arguement, even though FF7 for PC/PSX is great there are countless other RPG's worthy of being called the greatest for example FF 3/6 IT IS AMAZING AND THE GREATEST IN MY OPINION, but thats just mine.

Secret of Mana
The Zelda series
Super Mario RPG
Baldur's Gate
Never Winter Nights

there are countless RPG's its hard to choose just one

oh yea and i LOVE RPG'S! ESPECIALLY FF3J!

haha, ok thanks...big boy, I will. so anyway I don't really dig RPG's. Musashi, and a few others are cool but the battles and basic action in the games bore me to death. I mean what's fun about picking an attack and taking turns? OR walking around and talking. Just not for me I suppose. I dunno maybe I'm just not...big enough of a boy for em. What do you think pofcorn? :D

What I think is that I'm the hottest bitch around here, but that's a bit irrelevant to the matter.

Dragon warrior for Nes is my all time favorite RPG> It was a little similar to FF but I liked it better, and you were alone so no one can save you when you die.

Sure the turn based combat kinda blows but it adds a challenge to the game and makes every desicion very important, sometimes. The music is very good also, I can never get the theme stuck in my head once I play it. Damn! Its back!

Do do dooooo do do do do do do do do do dooooooo.....

yeah, other than that I like the original FF on Nes, not as good as Dragon Warrior but very good nontheless. The Zelda games are fuckin amazing. I have palyed the Legend, Link to the Past, Awakening and Orcarina. They all rocked my socks!! I liked Links awaking the best.. wait...Link to the past.. no ..... Orcarina..ahhh!!

The only "non franchise" RPG's I have played were Chrono Trigger and The secret of Mana. I never finished Chrono Trigger but I beat Mana, both good games for SNEs. I never treid any of these new Rpgs so mabey I am missing out but oh well, I like my old school Nes the best.

Oh yeah, Actraiser for Snes was realy cool, it was like a mix of Rpg/Sim city and side scrollingkick ass action.

Hard too. Like ice in a working freezer.

ok, bad analogy...

I'm not one of those huges RPG fans. I think the FINAL FANTASY series is ok, but that's basically all I know of the genre. I'm a big fan of BALDUR'S GATE, BALDUR'S GATE II, and SILVER (on PC), but I don't find all the other RPGs attractive at all. It just isn't really my bag.

Well I'm kind of conflicted. My fave game of all time is FF7, and yet I've never finished or enjoyed another RPG other than that. 3 was very good, but I never finished it. I think Zelda's one of the greatest games ever, but it doesn't count as an RPG. So until I enjoy and beat another RPG i'll remain a casual fan of them.

I tend to like RPG games the best. I play the games like Clock Tower and Shadow of Destiny which I guess would be classified more as puzzle/mystery games.

Not a particularly big fan of playing Final Fantasy although I do like watching the video sequences.

I enjoy some of the old ones, FF2, FF4, and Chrono Trigger are some of all time favorite games; but I can't stand modern RPG'S: Many of them seem to be too focused on cinematics and not delivering sweet gameplay.

Shadow of Destiny rules, although I'm not sure if it's an RPG because you dont increase you skills through the game.
