Tarkovsky / TCM heads up...

The Sacrafice, Andrei Tarkovski's last film, is airing tonight (Friday Night / Saturday Morning...however you want to think of it) at 2:00 A.M. EDT on Turner Classic Movies.

Thank you for the heads-up. I'm a huge Tarkovsky fan, and I'll be setting my timer for this one. Anyone else doing the same keep in mind the terrific documentary "Directed By Andrei Tarkovsky" will be airing after "The Sacrifice," so be sure to have enough room on the tape.

Do any Canadians here have TCM? This is the channel I want more than any other, even Playboy if you can believe that. But I cannot seem to find it anywhere, except for an American satellite dish which I doubt I'll ever get. Is there any other way?

bskutle, is the documentary the one Chris Marker directed, that they aired in August, or is that one different?:confused:

No; this is the one that was filmed during the making of "The Sacrifice." It's the main extra included on "The Sacrifice" DVD.

Wow, thanks for the alert Buck and bskutle. For those who aren't familiar with Tarkosky, Solaris and Stalker are milestone Sci-Fi films that are as much psychological and philosophical journeys into the unknown. I'm really looking forward to catching The Sacrafice. Thanks JoBlo, this board is awesome.
