I watched this movie last night and really enjoyed it.
It's kind of different than other hollywood movies in some way and I'd advise you guys to watch it...or if you already did, what did you think about it?
The only drawback to this movie in my opinion is Amanda Peet, I just HATE her face.

Here in France we only just got the first trailer (the movie's coming out in November, methinks), but it sure looks good. Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson look real good in it, and the story seems developped enough to be interesting. I think I'll see it in theaters as soon as I can.

As a lot of you might know, I simply loved Changing Lanes, I think it will go down as my fave of the year. As for Peet, I'm not usually a big fan of hers (Whipped anyone??), but I think the few scenes she was in were exceptional. Maybe she is a good actress after all, and it's just the shitty ass scripts that she has been taking that have been holding her back.

I gave Changing Lanes a high 7/10. Great performance by Samuel L. Jackson, as always, and Ben Affleck wasn't bad either. I agree with screamer, Amanda Peet was better in her few scenes than most anything I've ever seen her before. A good original movie. (I don't know if there have been a lot of movies centered around "road rage", but if there are I haven't seen them.)

Great Movie. Saw it for the first time two nights ago actually, and I loved it. There was some quality about the film that I still cant put my finger on that made it really fun to watch.

Maybe I liked it because it was very intense and suspenseful. Definitely not a boring movie, and one that has scenes that will piss you off cause you cant believe how often the fit hits the shan. Its one of those films where if you're feeling shitty about your life, just look at what the guy in the movie is going through and you wont feel too bad about your problems.:)

*SPOILER WARNING*

That dude on the computer who ruined Sam Jacksons credit and made him bankrupt... what a bad ass!

Funny... I thought this film sucked.

William Hurt was ridiculous ("You broke the fucking contract!") What the hell is THAT line all about? It's stupid.

Ben Affleck wasn't very good either.

Samuel L. Jackson was fairly good, but in some scenes I thought he stunk too.

The picture weeves in and out of focus way too much for "dramatic effect".

The camerawork was too often handheld and shot with a wide-angle lens (Affleck's face in the close up shots where he's confronting his boss looked a little more rounded because of this lens). And what was with that dumb idea of sticking the lens right into Ben Affleck's head and then pulling back out a few seconds later to show that time had passed? Yuck. Dumb.

I felt the directing was lazy and uninspired. I'd explain in more detail why I think this, but I don't rightly remember my reasons, seeing as I saw this opening day in American theatres.

The film was BORING.

I will complement the more "action-packed"scenes (the scene where Affleck's tire falls off, especially) because they were exciting. (I felt the director was more in-tune to the movie in these "action-y" scenes.) And the hacker guy was very funny and good. I also think that the film had good editing, and the cinematography was very nice (as far as the color tones and lighting went, not the camerawork). Overall though, this movie was a huge disappointment for me.

C or 5/10

(Originally a C- until I realized that I also gave the EXTREMELY inferior "Feardotcom" that same grade. LOL!)

i enjoyed this movie alot!

as for AMANDA PEET, i think she is hot as hell, and a very good actress, she usually plays a typical role in each movie (cant put my finger on it right now) but i think she is good!
and i saw her on CONAN O'BRIEN the other day and she seemed like a REAL nice and down to earth girl. i havnt seen IGBY GOES DOWN, but she is in it, and it looks real good!

I've just come back from a preview screening here in the UK. Changing Lanes was a film I was interested in watching after seeing the trailer before Red Dragon.

Its a good movie, bucks the trend a little by not really painting either of the two leads as bad guys they both want to do the right thing even though at the begining the film paints Affleck has a cocky twat who doesnt care, but eventually wakes up.

I thought they were both rather good, even Ben Affleck who people hate on these boards (he doesnt bother me) best thriller I've seen since Training Day.

7/10

I loved Changing Lanes. It's my 2nd favorite film of the year thus far. The performances were all great, from Affleck to Hurt. It was very involving, realistic and powerful. Amanda Peet, who I wasn't to sure about as an actress, really blew me away with her lunch scene with Affleck. She was frightningly good, imo.

The direction was very good and fit the mood of the film perfectly. Frantic, tough, realistic and edgy.

Overall, Changing Lanes was a much better film than the lackluster trailers made it out to be. It's not for everybody, though. It's basically a character study, so if that ain't your thing... stay away...

Geez, are movie guy and I the only ones who disliked this film? I did not see what all the buzz and hype was about. It was a particulary uninteresting film. The thing that annoyed me was so much attention on that damned file and not enough on the accident. Although the movie was bad IMO, Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson gave good performances, but even they couldn't redeem this film for me.

5.5/10
