Favorite All-Time Character/Line

What's everyone's favorite STAR WARS character? You may include the "expanded universe" if you would like. Also, add your favorite line of dialogue from any movie if you want to.

My favorite is Boba Fett. He has been since I saw EMPIRE. I realize that he's more of a minor charcter, but I still think he's the coolest SW character ever.

My favorite line is from Darth Vader in EMPIRE: "I am your father!"
That was the pivotal moment of the original trilogy, and set the stage for the prequels as well.

The best character of the trilogy is Chewbacca. I know he never speaks a word of English, but he is so lovable. I mean he can be cute and fluffy. And he can be mean and tear robots limb from limb. He is very versatile. A fluffy machismo strong capable of brutal killings and he is a mechanic. He is awesome. My favorite line is from The Empire Strikes Back. I love when Yodas says "help you I will". He is adorable. Go Yoda!

I think Yoda represents the ultimate good side of the force, though my personal favorite is still going to be Alec Guinness' portrail of the wiser Ben Kenobi.

Favourite character: Tough decision, I'd say Yoda and Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness).

I gotta say I love Han Solo. He's the coolest character in the STAR WARS universe, but in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, we get to see that he's always a nice guy and the best friend a hero could have. :) He's more or less the dream of every kid: a fast and cool-looking ship, a loyal furball of a friend, and he gets the sexy princess at the end. Perfect. :D

My fave line? "May the Force be with you", of course. :cool: But I love Solo's "Sometimes I amaze even myself" line in A NEW HOPE, and often use it in real life.

Han Solo is my favourite character.He has all the makings of a kick-ass superhero.He's Indiana but in Space.He's cocky,full of himself,but has a nice guy attitude as well.Now how can you beat that.

Yeah sure he doesn't do 360 filps around Count Dooku,which was amazing.But he's the ultimate bitch in the Star Wars Stories.

Definetily Han! He's one cocky S.O.B. and has a cool sidekick in Chewie and an awesome ship in the Millenium Falcon. I wish they had Dash Solo in a Star Wars flick. He and Han would make an awesome combo !

My faves always been and will always be Lando Calrissian. I always dug how he turned Han in and then redeemed himself. plus dude blew up the fricken Death Star! He dresses like a pimp too. The guys like Shaft in space. My other faves are Wedge and Obi Wan.

Darth Vader is undoubtedly one of the greatest movie villains of all time. I think he endures today for the same reason other horror movie monsters survive. He's terrifying. At eight years old, I thought this was the most maniacal and evil being out there. What makes him an even better character is the rather textured story behind him. He fell from grace when he lost control of his emotions. He let his feelings rule him. He wanted to rule the galaxy his way. He lacked control over his temper in many scenarios. He ruled by force. Yet he still wanted to be part of his son's life. He would rule the galaxy as father and son if Luke would only join him. In the end, under the villain there was a father. He still had a heart to him. He had the heart to destroy the one monster that even controlled him, even if it meant his life. The man that could strangle weak minded Imperial officers with a simple glance was still capable of being human. It's never too late to do the right thing...even for him.

My favorite line of all times: "You don't know the power of the dark side."

Fave Character - Darth Vader without a doubt. I second everything Jeo4 said. Vader's life story is just excellent. The tragedy of it makes all the more brilliant.

Damn, I didn't think anyone else would pick Lando. Hell yeah, Lando is the coolest character because he goes through the most change during the story (a loose definition of "protagonist"), so I like him. And I was always waiting for him to stop, look at the camera, and go, "How about a nice COLT 45." I also was considering Watto. "Only money."

My favorite character is Qui Gon. I would have loved to see what he could have done with a light saber when he was in his prime.

It's gotta be Han Solo. For 20 out of 27 years of my life I have aspired to be like him (and am helpless to avoid any Harrison Ford movie since then, even the recent "Hollywood Homicide"). He's dead-on accurate with a blaster (he shoots the Sarlacc's tongue when he's still half-blind!!!), he's funnier than frappucino and he's on the side of justice :)

Favorite line? There's so many. I think I'd have to go with

The obvious: "You're all clear, kid! Now let's blow this thing and go home!"

The not-so-obvious: "Keep your distance, though, Chewy, but don't look like you're trying to keep your distance."



Is it just me or does the commander in Jedi that says "Freeze! You Rebel scum" sound exactly like the Emperor? :p

It's favorite character. So it would be just Yoda and Obi-Wan since it is the same character, whether Alec Guiness or Ewan McGreggor is playing him.

My favorite character is Obi-Wan. Ewan McGregor solidified that in my mind. My favorite line of dialogue is a piece confirmed for Episode III, to be spoken by Darth Vader:

"I do not fear the Dark Side. I embrace it!"

This is a tie for me between the master and the apprentice. Palpatine and Vader. Both are incredible villians and can only be equalled possibly by the new man on the scene, Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving kicks ass)

Now the favorite line of mine, and it should be yours too, is spoken very softly, by Palpatine in ROTJ and basically is the climax of the entire sextology.

"So be it... Jedi."

This line carries so much power and emotion for me that it is unreal. I get goosebumbs just reading it.
This one line, spoken by The Emperor, says so many things at once.
It states very simply that Luke has finally become that which he was born to be, a Jedi.
It signifies that the Emperor is not as all powerfull and all knowing as he thinks he is and this is his admitance of this.
It symbolizes the redemption of Obi-Wan and the last success of Yoda.
It also shows that the sins of the father need not be the sins of the son.
And most Importantly, it marks The Return of the Jedi.

Now if you can't admit that this is the most important and powerfull line in the whole of the SW universe, and why it is my favorite, then you just ain't watchin them right.
