a llllooooong looong time ago, I had this vain admiration for what radiohead were doing with themselves(while they were peaking, commercially, mind you..) ... slowly, but surely, they began to grow on me.... their recordings sound more and more precise EVERY time I popped on OK computer..Thom's lyrics kept on falling short of genius....and I started to piece together that incredibly not-so- deep concept of spiritual ineptitude in a technological world... Even if you were using the kind and amount of equipment that these guys were experimenting with, you'd think there'd some kind of "Glitch" but no... NOTHING!!! It has no character, no spontaneity... its anal, contrived, rock and roll!!!
then KidA came out.. I remember buying on Thanksgiving day right after trying to get tickets to the exorcist!! All I'm gonna say is that I felt cheated out of the perfectly decent piece of hash that I wasted on it.
I like my rock, even my pretentious space-rock, to be just a little bit human.. Jesus, even the acoustic guitar sounded like it was made of aluminum!!!
imo, thom shines on "OK"..I'll give it that.
They've been pretty stagnant for the past few years...I think its high time one of them either overdoses or starts a solo career.

Absolutely stunning!
Fave Album has to be either The Bends or OK Computer...Pablo Honey would be me pick for the worst Album!
Kid A and Amnesiac are both superb Albums also...But I would need to have another listen!
Fave songs...
*Just
*My Iron Lung
*Karma Police
*Pyramid Song
A rather commercial selection I know!
But you can't beat Thom Yorke's vocal on 2HB and Ladytron
The thing about Radiohead...I tend to prefer the songs they release, Perhaps because the videos are usually rather fucking amazing! That's never usually the case with me though!

You're totally right..their singles ARE pretty dammned good..! If it weren't for my Iron Lung, I doubt I'd ever have gotten into them..
I could've used some more singles form OK though....christ, you could've used the entire album!! Electioneering would make a decent single..

I understand what you're saying here...
Radiohead can feel somewhat contrived (I feel The Strokes are a perfect example...Everything they produce seems rather formulaic, stilted...contrived)
Thom Yorke is an extremely talented young man, no doubt about it...but I'd like to see a little bit more of the raw energy of old...I fear they are beginnning to lose their edge!

I love Radiohead. Their probably my favorite band. Ok Computer and The Bends are two great albums. Along with Coldplay, they're one of the few British bands I've enjoy that have come over to the states.

When is the next Radiohead CD coming out? I love the band, so I can't wait for their new album, especially since I thought Amnesiac was a bit of a disappointment...
By the way, my favorite Radiohead CD is OK Computer and their best song is Paranoid Android.

Cool. Well I love OK Computer (obviously) and my faves songs have to be...
Just (probably the best video ever made)
Electioneering
Creep
Paranoid Android (vid for this is great too!)
Airbag
Climbing Up The Walls
Karama Police
And loads more but I usually listen to them the most. When I borrowed OK Computer off someone I wanted to add some songs on my playlist before giving it back - but God, the whole album is just great!:D

I'm a new Radiohead fan
my favorate song of theirs is How to dissapear completly.
I feel that their music is perfect for using in movies becuase it's a lot of techno sounds and stuff. Everything is right on cue.

HUGE Radiohead fan. Their new cd is being recorded now, is supposed to have more guitar-rock feel, and is set to come out Spring '03. Personally, my favorite songs are:
Paranoid Android
Like Spinning Plates
Creep
Motion Picture Soundtrack
and
The Bends
I think thats a pretty stellar list.
