My top 10 horror list:

The Audition
The Eye
The Ring series
Battle Royale
Versus
Ichi the Killer
Uzumaki (Spirals)
Dark Water
Kairo (Pulse)
Wild Zero

Are there any others that would be good recommendations? I have only recently started watching and collecting asian dvd's.

Try Kichiku. Sometimes called Kichiku Dai Enkai. We are talking some brutal crap! I love it!

I have only seen three asian horror flicks, but they are all top-fucking-notch.

Versus - 7/10
Battle Royale - 8/10
Audition - 9/10

I wish I could give you some advice on what to watch, but you have seen all that I have. But here is one word of advice: watch Audition again.

It is fucking brilliant. 'Nuff Said.

I see that the "zombies in a shopping mall" flick, Bio-Zombie hasn't been mentioned yet. I haven't seen it, but it certainly sounds fun.

This is not a horror movie per se, but a more Twilight Zone-ish movie. It's called Tales of the Unusual. It's just 4 stories - horror, weird, thriller and romance. All four stories are good. I showed it at one of my parties and everyone liked it. Humorous, weird and creepy.

There's also the Thai slasher, Fear Faith Revenge. Not a great movie, but decent. It's like the Asian Scream, but with a supernatural twist. I enjoyed it.

Another one is Tomie. Wait, that movie sucked. x.x But I've heard good things about the sequel, Tomie: Replay and there's a new prequel out. Forgot the name.

If you don't mind supernatural cheese, I guess you could check out the Eko Eko Azarak series. There was a short TV drama, and then there's four movies. I've only seen the second and third. It's about a witch named Misa Kuroi who has to kill demons and also save her family. Not bad. I recommend the movies over the stupid TV show. The third film is available in the states under the title Misa The Dark Angel.

It is fun, if you like Mallrats, mixed with Return of The Living Dead,
then you are in for a treat.
It's hella funny.

GMK scores as a great Godzilla movie and horror movie.

Let us not forget Evil Dead Trap. That one's got some really nasty gore and a rape sequence that had me squirming unpleasantly.

I haven't seen the sequel yet, as I've heard it's far inferior and has nothing to do with the first movie.

I dun really count GMK as horror. It's more of a sci-fi/daikaiju flick. Dark, but not horror really.

Not seen it mentioned yet, but Naked Blood anyone?
Basically some guy creates a drug that makes pain pleasurable? He stitches a few girls up and slips it in with some regular medication and they end up kinda manglig themsleves up... Only 60 mins running time, but they get through a wide plethora of Splatter moments... Inc a young lady Eating herself... literally, double entendre and everything... ;)

Oh and if were talking cool, then altho not Horror (but try telling the piles of severed/crushed/mangled body parts that!) We gotta talk RICKY OH!!!! Yeah, Ricky f@ckin rules! Especially the dubbed version... get the crew round, get faced and whack on the dubbed version - instant party fave!
See Ricky fight the system from the inside with his Superhuman strength! See Ricky disembowel 400lb lard asses with his bare hands! See Ricky reattatch severed tendons with one hand!!!
Yay! You Go Ricky!

OOPS! And forgot about the so - so sequel to this Bio-cops! Some sort of super zombie creates a small zombie army from Prisoners in a police station and tries to unleash its horrors on the outside world.. or something..?

I consider it horror because this film, like the very first, shows the horror that the Japanese people have to go through after the evil beast awakens once more. Take for instance, that scene where Godzilla gets pissed by all those people screaming in the parking lot. He charges up his atomic ray and creates a mushroom after releasing his fury upon those people. Other than adults, there were babies and little kids who just got nuked in that parking lot. And the legend of the 3 Gods of Yamato add to the mystique. G 2000 and GxM are definitely sci-fi because Godzilla's a hero and has to save Japan from some other threat.
