View Full Version : Why Set Up Films?

The more I think about AOTC, the less I like it. Some of you people may say it's fun to watch, but TPM was fun to watch (I liked Jar Jar in the battle scene as the general, that was entertaining. I had to get that off my chest ). I think about the dialogue and Anakin's mother's death, and it's just so unsatisfying. There should have been a twist in this movie. There NEEDED to be a twist.

Why are TPM and AOTC both just set ups? They both exist to serve the purpose of EP 111. I let TPM slide by, but not AOTC, coz I expected more. I think I had the exact opposite reaction from everyone else when it came to AOTC and TPM. TPM is pretty much supposed to be a set up and wasn't really meant to be the best. I still liked AOTC. It has great battle scenes, (all the Jedi fighting together was just incredible!) Natalie Portman's alphets, and the musical score is back babe! The script just needed some more work I suppose.

Dooku being Anakin's father may help in the next movie. But that can't help Shmi's death. WEAK! Instead of trying to say "I love you," she could have already said that when he showed up. Then she could have said "I...I have to tell you something. I have to tell you..." then dies. All in all people, when all is said and done, will we actually watch TPM and AOTC just to look back? Methinks not.

No FUCKING way. If George Lucas writes that into EPISODE III, I'll personally beat him to death with a HOWARD THE DUCK dvd.
