Braindead, but from what I've come to know on this board, I have a feeling LotR will take it... why, I don't know... such a bad movie. But hey, people's likes what people's likes... aight?

BRAINDEAD rules! It was a hard choice between Braindead and Bad Taste... Meet the Feebles rocks too.

I voted for THE FRIGHTENERS. A very original horror/comedy film and I just new most people would vote for LOTR, which I probably like best as well.

FOTR, only just beating Braindead and Bad Taste though.

My favest PJ`s movie is Heavenly Creatures. For me that`s the scariest movie I`ve ever seen. I think The Frighteners was very well-made as well. As for LOTR, what can I say -the best directed movie in the recent years.

The only one of those that I've seen is The Frighteners. I liked it. So I voted for that.

LOTR:FOTR a movie which I adore. I am surprised to see Heavenly Creatures not on the list since I have heard so many people rave about it even before LOTR came out.

LOTR without a doubt. BRAIN DEAD is great, and the others are good, but LOTR was a masterpiece.

Dead - Alive with Fellowship of the Ring coming in a close second...

MODERATOR NOTE: I added Heavenly Creatures (and voted for it) due to popular demand.

P.S. -Dead-Alive (aka Braindead) is number 6 on my worst movies of all-time list. It wasn't gross, it wasn't above or below me... it just did not entertain me in the least and was poorly made and everything else I can say bad about a motion picture. Dawn of The Dead is my second favorite horror film, and Re-Animator is great, so it's not that I don't like gore films, but Dead-Alive and Zombie and the like are made for the sole purpose of showing poorly designed supposedly gross effects, I don't see what makes that enjoyable or good...Maybe someone can explain the appeal and strong positive opinions about the film...

Well, first off, I will whole-heartedly disagree on one thing - Dead-Alive, to me, is a well-made film. The camera work, the look, the feel, the acting, it all achieved what the film wanted it too - camp, cheese, gore. I love it! And with the budget that film was shot on - really, its amazingly well-made. I, in fact, like all of Peter Jacksons films. I loved Heavenly Creatures, and Forgotten Silver. I thinm Braindead, Dead-Alive, and Meet the Feebles, are the most enjoyable horror movies ever. And The Frighteners is an original, awesome flick. Lord of the Rings is also a masterpiece, in my opinion. And, yes, I was a fan before LotR, so,....yeah. Not any lap-doging here.

Most people, (including the 95% of people who have seen it that like it), from what I've read don't believe it is so well made. But rather enjoy the cheesy humor, over-done gore, and campy feel...in an Ed Wood sort of way. I took the poor production value, acting, etc... (or shall we say, the production value, feel action, that I felt was poor) as semi-intentional. Meaning Jackson both was not trying to make a "good" movie in the traditional sense of the word, and due to budgetary constraints. To me, it just doesn't evoke anything but boredom and sighs, the film wasn't scary (though I don't think it was intended to me) nor funny, so as a comedy-horror film, I think it failed. The scenes that I suppose were meant to ilicit humor, I just thought were retarded, and the serious scenes poorly done. I know I'm in the tiny minority with this one, but the film does nothing for me, and I think it's incredibly stupid...that's why it holds a firm position on my 10 Worst Movies of All-Time list, even though many schmoes and even critics love the hell out of it...

While LotR is certainly the best, Dead-Alive is much more enjoyable...

I see that this is a poll on people's FAVORITE films of his, but if it were "BEST", and a single vote strayed away from LOTR, I'd be forced to slap that person senseless. (Yeah, I'm serious.) But, as this is "FAVORITES", I can understand the diversity (because I loved The Frighteners and Dead Alive too).

My favorite AND the best movie of his is Lord of the Rings though, in case you couldn't tell.

I'm totally with you on all that movie guy. I don't think you can argue that LOTR's not his BEST, but i can understand how peoples' FAVES would differ. Mine is also LOTR.

I dunno, this poll is a little like asking "which would you prefer, firing squad, electric chair, or gas chamber?" All of your choices are pretty bad...

Just to clarify, because of what has been said in other posts, I do not consider 'best' and 'favourite' films to be seperate things.

My vote is for Heavenly Creatures

SPOILERS

I've seen it many, many times and I'm still impressed with both PJ's visuals and the performances he gets, particualrly from Kate Winslet. Plus the final scene is still one of the most convincingly brutal murders I've seen on screen.
