I'm thinking about buying an X-Box and I was wondering what adapters and things would I need to buy for it? Thanks

Well, that all depends on what your tv supports.
Does it support, composite, S-video, or A/V cables.
If it's composite, you will need an RFU adaptor.
If your tv supports a/v cables (yellow, white, and red colored cables) then you are all set. The X-box comes with a set,
If I'm not mistaken.
Same with S-video, it's a small cable that has a small circular
ending, it has tiny prongs inside of it. It looks like the ps2 serial adaptor for the computer.

The image for the composit RFU adaptor is for the dreamcast, but,
it looks the same for all the consoles out there today, depending on which brand you purchase, the product will look different.
Just ask for an RFU adaptor for the X-Box.
If you have a digital home theater system, you may want to purchase optical cables, so you can get Dolby Digital 5.1
sound for your videogames, and dvd's.

Hope I helped.

I'm bumping this up for you PorcheRacer.
As you will see what you need, unless
you are ignoring this post, because
you found someone at the store
to tell you what you need.
Tis ok, though. :D

Like Raven said, as long as you A/V hook ups then you don't need anything.
If you want to play DVD's on your XBOX then you will need to buy the DVD Playback Unit, which is like $30.
I think in November XBOX will be launching XBOX Live, which is it's multi-player platform. Its relly affordable too. For around $50, you get all the equipment you need, plus a one year subscription.
One really nice featurre on the XBOX is it's huge hard drive. You pretty much don't need to buy memory units ever again, unless you want to transfer data from one xbox to another.
Thats pretty much it. There aren't any hidden features you need to purchase in order to play games, and it's by far the best gaming system out there.
