Ah. Such a wonderful book only comes along once every so often. I loved everything about this wonderful piece of work. I think Barker may actually be at his best when writing 'kids' books, beause Abarat and The Thief of Always are both works of pure genious (IMO).

Abarat is kinda similar to Harry Potter in some ways, only darker and more epic and complex. If anyone else has read this, what did you think about it?

If anyone is interested but unsure whether to buy this, just let me know and I'll post a full review.

Oh, and by the way, the artwork is mostly outstanding. I have got to get a huge print of the painting of The Beautiful Moment to hang in my apartment!

Am I the only one who's read or cares about this? I know there are more Barker freaks out there, so post some Abarat love or I'll send Mendelson Shape to come kick your ass!!! ;)

BTW, did anyone else notice the way the word ABARAT is painted on the spine of the book? It spells the same word if you turn it upside down. It's friggin awesome.
