writer's block, man. i have this awesome song worked out on guitar, but i cant think of any lyrics, let alone a topic to write about! help me! any cures for writers block?

A good cure for writers block is to start a thread on joblo.com entitled "fuck" and ask your fellow schmoes for a cure for writers block.

You may find it works a treat!

A sure fire cure is to write. Force yourself to write and the ideas will come.

If you wait for inspiration to strike, you'll be waiting a loooooong time!

Make sure it really needs words. Some songs just work better as instrumentals. If it needs words, just come up with a bunch of shit that doesn't make any sense until something does or you realise that it doesn't have to make sense. Just as long as you don't write about stupid, angsty high school crap. ;)

Whenever I have writers block--though I dunno how well this works for LYRICS--I listen to music. Great music that fucks with my head until I HAVE to write something. That always works

...or...of course...you KEEP the writers block and feel like gutting yourself because you HAVE to write. :D

A definite cure for writer's block would be to just sit back listen to your fave CD and jus meditate until it comes to you trust me in saying that it does work
