Exluding the ones directed by Scorsese, Which would you say is De Niro's best? For me it was a hard choice between Godfather Part II and Once Upon A Time in America, but I went with Once Upon A Time in America

Even if you include the Scorsese-directed ones, my favourite is The Godfather Part II

I voted for Heat. I don't consider The Godfather Part II a "DeNiro movie". Well, also, I liked Heat better.

I'd go with Godfather II easily. I haven't seen Once Upon a Time in America, but I haven't had a great desire to either...I'd say Godfather II, #6 on my all-time greatest list.

Godfather II, I'm with everyone else! :) I remember he was able to convince me he was the same character as Marlon Brando's in the original, down to the body language.

Although, like the movie guy said, The Godfather Part II is not really a "DeNiro movie," but it is very important in his career and is technically, for my money, the best non-Scorsese film he has appeared in, followed very closely by Heat.

Godfather 2. That and Deer Hunter are my favorite non-Scorsese films. I thought Heat was crap though
