Has anyone played this game before...it sounds very good and I'd love to play it but no X-box or PS2! The Commericals look good enough to get me hooked for hours and hours.

Yeah, I've played it; It's amazing. The whole Fear/Trust gameplay mechanic is ingenious and the combat is intense; especially when your team mates are killing themselves around you, or burning everything in sight with flame-throwers, or trying to kill you! Caring for your team's mental and physical health is a great and innovative aspect to the survival horror genre, and thoroughly engrossing. Also the gore is sweet :).

Great movie, and a great game. Also, I believe it's out for PC as well HP.

i agree the trust technique and such is cool but its so damn hard for me,i turned it off and returned it right away a big waste of money for me...i didnt dig it...

I was going to do a review of the game once I finished it, but I'm stuck in a spot where I have to low of health and am going up what I can only gues is one of the "bosses". There is no health around and as soon as I run through the door there is a cut scene and then I die. I really don't feel like going back further to replay the same sections again.

I'm not a big fan of 3rd person type games but The Thing is one of my all time favorite movies so I had to have it :(

Some coplaints *****Possible Spoilers *************

1) Weapon aiming sucks, there is a switch that changes your view to 1st person for better aiming, should have just made 1st person type game

2) Flame thrower/blow-torch sucks ass as a weapon, again unless you use the 1st person view you end up torching yourself more than Things. Maybe I spoiled from RTCW now thats a flamethrower!

3) You can only save your game at certain points during the game, this blows!

4) At 1 point I was finally able to save the game, I had 2 guys working with me, we round the corner, they transform into Things, fire fight follows, so I did a little checking. I had a few test kits I did the following:

a) Noted where "switch" point was that they change, started shooting them before point nothing happend they just die. WTF they were things should havbe changed

b) Gave them each a test kit, which they pass, moved to "switch point" they still farkin changed WTF! STUPID!!!!!!!!

All in all what I have played of the game is very disappointing and was a waste of my hard enarned cash. Unless they release a health cheat so I can get past the point I'm at the game will sit unplayed on my PC until I need the space.

The only really cool thing was in the begining you get to walk around the site where the movie took place.

If they wanted to build an RPG they should have done some more research, there are much better games out there.

I was looking forward to this game but know I am not so sure. But I always say it is better to RENT a game first before purchasing it. Then you can check it out for 5 bucks instead of buying it for 60 and finding out you don't like it! It ususally works for me except for when I end up beating the game I rented in like three days!!
