Braveheart isn't over 3 hours long. It's only 177 minutes.

Neither is The Godfather which is 175 minutes.
BTW -If you want as a moderator I can put Seven Samurai, Once Upon A Time in America, and Deer Hunter on there (and/or take The Godfather off).

Lawrence of Arabia is a very close second, but I'd say Gone with the Wind.

I voted for The Godfather, Part II, since the criterion is "Best". Spartacus is my favorite film on this list.

Magnolia better than Schindler's List? I'm not thinking so. I know they're opinions, but sometimes opinions are just plain wrong.

First of all, I didn't insult anyone on the board, and if you have read any of my previous 1500 posts, you would see that 95% of my comments are tongue-in-cheek. I'll thank you to not tell me how or when to post. I know the rules well, and refrained from disrespect. And yes, it is my opinion that you are wrong.

I voted for Magnolia (10/10)
Heat (9/10) was originally 188 minutes long so if you had put that in the poll, it would come second.
The rest of the ratings for the movies I have seen go something like this :
The Godfather (8/10)
The Godfather Part 2 (7/10)
Schindler's List (8/10)
JFK (9/10)
Malcolm X (9/10)

Best 3+ hour movies
1.The Godfather Part II 10/10
2.Schindler's List 10/10
3.JFK 10/10
All in my all-time top 10

No problem. But yeah, it did come across as fairly nasty. Sorry if I did the same. But Schindler's List still has it all over Magnolia.;)

I voted for The Godfather Part II. However, if you would have put in Heat in the poll... that would have been my choice.

Well Heat fell short of three hours also 175 I think. Godfather II is the best of the 3+ hour movies.

Spielberg's masterpiece of course, the most chilling three hours I've ever sat through... twice... 6 years apart... tied with Coppola's masterpiece that surpassed the original "The Godfather Part II"

How could you leave out the masterpiece APOCALYPSE NOW (redux)??????????????????????????????
OH, and out of that list, JFK wins hands down.....

SCHINDLER'S LIST. It doesn't get any better than that.

Sorry, but Magnolia is the only plus three-hours film that had me captivated the entire way through. There was no, "I need to turn this off and take it up" later debate. I wanted to see that movie through until the end. I can't say that about any of the other films.

Voted for Godfather part 2, just because I haven't seen Seven Samurai in a while. Those two are the best of the list.
