Rushmore. *spoilers*

Starring: Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray.
Directed by Wes Anderson

Love. Expulsion. Revolution.

Review: Wow. What a great film. A perfect film. They type of film that comes around once every 3 or 4 years if we're lucky. We are very lucky right now. In the past 4 years we've gotten Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ghost World, American Beauty and Almost Famous. That is damn lucky if you ask me.

Max Fischer is invlved in every extra-curricular activity he can be. He is the founder of countless clubs at his prep school, Rushmore Academy. He loves it there. His grades are the worst of any student at school. It's not that he's stupid, he is just too busy working on plays and his clubs. Well, long story short, he falls in love with first grade teacher at Rushmore, Rosemary Cross. He is quickly kicked out of Rushmore and that kick-starts a whole, shitload of events that will follow. I know, it rocks.

Jason Schwartsman is a natural. He can hold out attention without so much as lifting a finger. He is hilarious, and more importantly; talented. The entire movie rests upon the shoulder's of Taila Shire's son and he carries the movie in spades. Bill Murray gives us his best performance since Groundhog Day (or was it his first since then?) and he is just great. I have always liked Bill Murray and he was finally given the script he deserved with Rushmore. Olivia Williams is also very good as schoolteacher Rosemary Cross. Remember the Dennis the Menace film from a few years back? The kid that played Dennis? He plays Dirk Calloway (aren't Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson like the greatest writers?), Max's sidekick and he is good too. Every single person in the cast held the movie together rather nicely.

Wes Anderson, you deserved an Oscar for this masterpiece of film called Rushmore. That's all I have to say about that.

A perfect movie that has a great soundtrack worth buying and all-around great performances.

RATING: 10/10.

Voted for Rushmore. I didn't hate The Royal Tenenbaum's, but I wasn't blown away either. And i haven't seen Bottle Rocket.

The Royal Tenenbaums, where his style was more developed and refined, than it was in his first two films. It's been a brilliant progression in my eyes.

2. Rushmore
3. Bottle Rocket

The Royal Tennenbaums by far. Its such a quirky yet borderline sick movie that I love.

I just couldn't get into Rushmore as intensely as most, but I think Tenenbaums is one of the best movies of the millenium herein.

Bottle Rocket * * 1/2
Rushmore * * * 1/2
The Royal Tenenbaums * * * *

Bottle Rocket was ok but it was very uneven. After that though his movies got better exponentially. And they seem to just keep getting better with Royal Tenenbaums nearly perfect in my eyes.

I will definately look forward to his next movie, whenever that may be.
