ok dpf3737 you got it a bit wrong.
first you need to delete one of the rap nominees and one of the metal nominees. Then once you have doen that you have to delete one from any genre you want, then you ll have 5

keep them coming we still need 46 places.
What happens if I don't like your selections? And what about other genres, like instrumental?
Rock/Punk - The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Rancid.
Pop - None. Heh. :p
Rap - As above.
Country - Ditto.
Heavy Metal - NIN.
Classics - Billie Holiday.
Comedy - Billy Connelly.

If you don't like the selections then dont vote for them.
I'm not turning down any selections.
When you say instrumental give an example of who you mean.
Is Billy Connely in a band, or is he a musician, thats the only problem. coz this is a music turnament, not stand up comedy

Billy Connolly has written some extremely brilliant Folk songs (Some comedic, some completely serious)...I was going to nominate him myself actually...
My Dad is a huge fan of Connolly and listens to him all the time...He's actually very funny indeed!
Favourites include...D.I.V.O.R.C.E (Not the Dolly song), The Welly Boot Song, In the Brownies...and a rather great one about some barbed wire knickers...Can't remember the name of that one!

I'd say the ten greatest bands ever are:
1) The Rolling Stones
2) The Beatles
3) Led Zeppelin
4) The Who
5) Pink Floyd
6) Jimi Hendrix EXP
7) Black Sabbath
8) Guns And Roses
9) AC/DC
10) The Doors
You should have solo artists on a seperate list too. Like Bowie and Bob Dylan.
As for punk bands, the top 3 have to be...
1) The Clash
2) The Ramones
3) The Sex Pistols
Metal's Metallica for sure.
Rap:
1) RUN DMC
2) Public Enemy
3) Easy E
4) The Sugerhill Gang
5) Dr. Dre
I know jack shit about country but I'd say Johhny Cash is the best.

Here's a wonderfully refreshing off topic question. Who's the dude in your avator, Bad Cover Version?

Classical musicians such as Mozart; country pickers like Chet Atkins; rockers - Satriani; blues guys such as Jeff Beck; folk - Bert Jansch; etc. In fact (heh), what happened to the blues category?
While I'm here...
Punk - Black Flag, The Rollins Band.
Classics - Chuck Berry.
Rock - Radiohead, Sting.

That would be the rather delicious Jarvis Cocker (Pulp)
He sings about a "Bad Cover Version of Love"
One day I'll shack up with the lanky bastard...Oh yes I will!

They can go in classics. And sooner or later, someone will have to fill in the pop section:D

DO PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS?
2 per section per person, 5 as a max. per person.
So here is my solution, from all the ones you listed i am going to choose only whats allowed from each of your lists.
so for gregorius8 i might choose Snoop Dogg and Ice cube or any other combination i want.
Well ill add them all later.
