The Sword and The Sorcerer(1982)

Questionable horror but very fun and suprisingly gory Lord of the Rings type movie. From the director of Cyborg(Van Dam flick, when he was still cool). A king(Richard Lynch, Harris from Bad Dreams, I love this dude) resurects a sorcerer(Richard Moll, Bull from Night Court, when he was playing just about every man in a suit in these movies) in an awsome scene filled with bloody heads sceaming to help him defeat another king. After he is sure he can win he tries to kill the sorcerer but is unsucessful and he is also unsuccesful in killing one of the king's sons. Needless to say both of these mistakes come back to bite him in the ass.
Good directing keeping a swashbucling & swordfighting atmosphere with some cool gore parts(head pushed onto a sharpening wheel, hearts jumping out of bodies, a couple faces split in two, and the best the sorcerer growing out of a man), some bad but all together ok acting(Moll is awsome as the evil socerer), pretty good effects (the above gore parts still look good, a three bladed sword that can be used as sort of a crossbow slinging blades). I remember seeing this one when I was younger on HBO and loving it. Its still pretty fun in a b-movie way and the action scenes are still good. Anchor Bay got another winning DVD but no real extra's and I didn't really need any. Any comments/pans/disagreements?:D

Rated R for Extreme Violence and Gore, Nudity and Language.

What a fun ride!!!!!! SATS is a great cheese flick and perfect for when you just want to feel macho and strong. It has gore, naked women, sword fights, cheesy dialogue, corny acting and enough copies from Conan for you to laugh at all the way through. Basically, it's the same story as Conan with a demon thrown in and it's much less serious.

Gore- 9/10
Head cut in two, heart and organs ripped out, crusifixion, impalings, skin on entire body ripped off, stabbings and more!

Nudity- 7/10
We get an ass shot from the lead, a room full of naked women and some whores showing breasts.

I have totaly forgotton about this movie. I had seen it in the theater when I was a kid. I love the sarcophagus scene.

Wow. I hated this movie... with a passion. Pure cheese. I was hoping it wouldn't suck, so I bought it. Turns out it sucked. Oh well. I dunno, maybe I'm just weird.

You aren't weird man, the reasons you didn't like it are the reasons we do, you just have different tastes, nothing wrong with that at all. Too bad you bought it though.

I can't belive that you could not enjoy the sarcophagus secne.
