I haven't seen the trailer for this movie yet but I dig the poster, even if the tagline "Sea Evil" is a little lame. Depending on how it looks I might check it out in theaters, but I might not get the chance since I'll already have my work cut out for me with ABANDON and THE RING opening the week before.

What does everyone else think?

I'm actually looking forward to this one. The trailer was pretty creepy but it reminded too much of Event Horizon. However, this is a movie I definately want to check out.

i saw the trailer last night. it was attached to feardotcom. it is more like event horizon. the only way its similar to virus is that both films have tug boat crews stranded on another ship. the trailer looked ok. mostly clips of julianna margulies and isiah washington. very little gabriel byrne and pretty much no ron eldard.

I saw the trailer and thought this film, lack of a better word, sucks.

Looks pretty cheezy and silly, uninspired, un-scary, sort of like a Friday the 13th movie. Then again I thought the same thing of 13 Ghosts and I actually liked the movie.

It did sort of remind me of Event Horizon, but the part where the guy is in that sort of time-warp where it is the past has been done quite a few times, the one that comes to mind right now is The Frighteners, and the part where the ghost girl comes up to him, starts taking off her clothes, kisses him, and suddenly BAM she's a gross looking zombie--I think we've seen that same exact scene before...(hint: The Shining)

Also, that British girl looks kinda weird, I mean kid ghosts can be creepy sometimes but this one is anything but. Also, it seems to me like Brit girls of a long time ago were more proper, and this one slumps when she sits in a very present-time way.

So will I be seeing this? Not unless it's on HBO or some other movie channel. I doubt I'll pay any money for this.

I saw a couple of TV spots for it in the last couple of days and it looks OK, nothing great though and nothing I would waste my time seeing in theaters. I'll check it out on video though.

So far all of the TV spots I've seen for The Ring are really weird, but not in a scary way, I actually don't find them scary at all. I still want to see it though.

As for ABANDON, this looks pretty damn weird itself, at least by the trailer anyway. But I'm into movies like that so I'm there. It looks like a solid thriller with some cool twists. Plus, how can you go wrong with Katie Holmes? She's so damn cute. She's on the cover of my latest issue of Movieline and she looks damn fine, she actually looks a little different. She is really tan and her hair is dyed and the color looks close to her skin color. It's a great picture. Anyway, I haven't seen any TV spots for ABANDON yet but I'm almost a 100% sure at least one will air during the season premiere of Dawson's Creek on October 1st.

I'd see THE RING and ABANDON over GHOST SHIP anyday...

I really dig these creepy, weird movies. I'll prolly go see this one just for shits and grins. Warner Bros. is pretty notorious for making the ones that sink like the titanic lately, so my expectations won't be huge.

I think Ghost Ship looks okay. It is not original and the actors are nothing special. The effects look good though and little dead girls always freak me out(this, The Shining, feardotcom). The Ring looks awful. Everything I see is weird and that shot of screaming Naomi Watts with the big bleeeeeeep is stupid. I will avoid this one. I really wanna see Abandon. The trailer was scary and Katie Holmes is very pretty. Benjamin Bratt is a very good actor sometimes. I think it looks mighty scary.

i think Ghot Ship is gunna suck. dark castle needs another strong horror release, such as the -in my opnion -House on Haunted Hill remake. 13 Ghosts looked awesome, but ultimately blew chunks last year. Ghost Ship looks crappy and stupid, it sux that this movie will actually make money while below is left in the water.

o yeah, and about the ring, i think it looks creepy as hell. i am so excited for Oct. 18!!!

You can find her movieline cover pic at www.katieholmespictures.com on the second page of the magazine pictures category in the image section. She looks so damn great in this picture, it's one of the best pictures I've seen of her.
