Review:
My first thought on "Swimfan" is that the movie is like a new version of "Fatal Attraction" or should I say "Fatal Attraction:The Next Generation" because it has the same plot but involving teenagers.
Erika Christensen plays "Madison Bell" the new girl in school who turns into a teenage stalker who wreaks havoc on her classmates when "Ben Cronin"(Jesse Bradford),the school's popular swimming stud, who rejects her after their one-time-fling with her. "Madison" refuses to take no for an answer and stalks him. She gets obsessed with "Ben" after what happened in the seduction pool scene which was tense and hot,but I wanted it to be longer even though there wasn't any nudity. So she begins to send him a lot of e-mails,phonecalls and she is everywhere he goes. She just goes psycothic and starts killing. The game of seduction...of ambush...of danger...ends in death!
I enjoyed "Swimfan" from beginning to end, I wasn't bored not a single moment because the movie keeps you in suspense. I'm really glad to see a new female psycho killer. The letdown of the movie is the ending it totally displeased me, I didn't like how it ended because I was expecting "Erika C." to give me atleast a scare like "Glenn Close" did in the end of "Fatal Attraction" indeed the ending just sucked that I ended up screaming in the theater "Sh!t Ending!!!". But what are we gonna expect from a PG-13 flick, that just messed the movie because I wanted to see sex, nudity and all the deaths are offscreen that sucks. Still I like the film I think is a good suspense flck well let's call it a good horror movie.
Bodycount: 3
Acting: The acting in general was really good because Erika Christensen did an excellent job she is a good actress. Jesse Bradford he always does an excellent work he was great and for Shiri Appleby finally I see her in the Big-screen because she is a good young actress and she is awesome in "Roswell" but here she did a good job but she doesn't appear to much in the film.
Gore: The only blood you will see here is from a corpse in the pool, so there isn't really blood in the film plus I don't really think it needed to much because I was pleased with the suspense.
T!ts and @ss: The ladies will be happy to see Jesse Bradford only wearing a speedo and shirtless a lot during the film! Plus you will see a lot more guys wearing those. The boys are just gonna be teased by Erika Christensen but we do her bra in the pool scene.:D
Afterall: I enjoyed the film but things would had been better if the movie didn't had that very very lame ending and if the movie was rated:R. I recommend you to wait for it on video and probably the dvd might have a lot of cool deleted scenes and alternate endings, well I hope so. The last thing I have to say is that the trailer shows a lot of the good parts of the film.
