Leo Dicaprio has two movies coming out Christmas Day, Catch Me If You Can and Gangs Of New York. I wonder which movie will be more succesful with money and at the oscars.
Gangs Of New York has Martin Scorsese has the Director and the sexy Cameron Diaz. It also stars a very good actor named Daniel Day-Lewis and Dicaprio as the other lead. It also looks like a big blockbuster movie that will actually be good, not just lots of fighting or explosions.

Catch Me If You Can has Steven Spielberg directing it and Tom Hanks Starring in it. It sounds like a really good movie but wont have as big of a budget as Gangs Of New York but will be pretty good because of spielberg.

Catch Me If You Can will do better financially, unless GONY pulls a Titanic, which it very well could. CMIYC has Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and a much more accessible story-line. But I do think that GONY will be the better film.

Gangs of New York looks like crap to me. Irsh dudes slugging it out in America. Didn't we see that in Far And Away?

Catch Me If You Can seems like a much better movie.

I actually think that Gangs of New York will do better at the box office. Its got Scorcese and Diaz along with Daniel Day-Lewis (for PT Anderson fans: John C. Reilly) and the academy award winner Jim Broadbent. Catch Me If You Can, being that I've only seen production photos, heard the cast and crew names, and read the novel, i cant say anything yet. but it seems like a more fun movie. humurous. but im definitely going to try and check out both, though Catch Me If You can is first... (jennifer garner is in it as a call girl that entices dicaprio... oooooooo)

Both films will do good at the box-office, although I do think Catch Me If You Can will be more sucessful.

Catch Me If You Can will do better. GONY has the violence/sex factor while CMIYC has a more acceptable storyline for some younger viewers....

Scorsese doesn't attract a HUGE crowd anymore. Diaz doesn't attract a HUGE crowd either, less in a costume drama. Nobody gives a damn about Daniel Day-Lewis, and Jim Broadbent is an absolute unknown to any non-movie fan.

CMIYC, on the other hand, has Spielberg (one of the most recognizable directors ever), DiCaprio (he can probably still attract a crowd), and Tom Hanks (Mr. Success).

I'm gonna have to go with CMIYC.

Dude... Gangs of New York looks bad. Daniel Day-Lewis is overacting (and trying to impersonate Robert DeNiro, IMO). Diaz is ugly, and the shots in the trailer (two of them) where people open doors and then move to the side so the camera can pass through seems like a bad directing choice. I give the trailer a C+ and I can only HOPE the movie ends up being better than that. Last I checked, ALL of Scorsese's movies after Goodfellas have been large disappointments.

On the other hand though...

Catch Me if You Can has GOT to be good considering the poeple involved and a cool-sounding story, but I will wait for the trailer at least before I discuss it any further. This movie will definately reign over Gangs of New York though at the box office, and most likely at the Academy Awards too.

I have liked ALL of Scorsese's films since Goodfellas, especially the incredible Bringing Out the Dead (10/10).
Others include Casino, The Age of Innocence, Cape Fear, and Kundun, which I liked after watching a second time. I am psyched for Gangs of New York.

I'm sorry, I meant to imply that it was my personal opinion that I found his later movies to be disappointing. I DO want to see Bringing Out the Dead again. All I can remember is what I DID like about it now, but I guess when I saw it there was just something I did not like.
