View Full Version : Undercover Brother 2 - Do you think this will happen?
I haven't seen Undercover Brother yet but after it was a moderate success at the Box Office I thought for sure they'd make a sequel, just like they did with Austin Powers, but so far no word on one. I actually think they should go for it if they want to make some $$$money$$$. I think the sequel would probably do much better than the first. Plus it is a movie similar to Austin Powers so it might see that same kind of success. Undercover Brother finished its run with $38,230,435 which certainly isn't bad at all with a budget of 25 Million and still more money to be made on video and DVD. The first Austin Powers made $53,883,989 at the Box Office and just look at the sequels---they're huge. Austin Powers 2 made $206,040,085 at the Box Office and Austin Powers 3 will gross more than that.
I see a sequel getting made and I don't think they should pass this opportunity up. They could have a hit.
What does everyone else think?

Like you, I haven't seen it yet but most people who have has enjoyed it and, if it follows the same path as Austin Powers, which it could, sequels could be huge.

I don't think it's very likely, but who knows. I don't think we would have gotten all the Austin Powers sequels if it wasn't for it's success on video, so maybe if Undercover Brother does really good on video we might see a sequel. Oh by the way, I also never saw Undercover Brother, but it looks like a "dumb" funny movie.

I heard that they are already writing a screenplay for it. I really hope that they make a sequel, this one of the funniest movies of the year! And I hope Chris Kattan returns even though what happens to him in the end is kind of a closure to his character http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I thought the movie was very funny, not GREAT but enjoyable. I don't really know if there will be a sequel or not; I wouldn't be surprised either way. But something that I thought was really weird is that the movie had NO closure at all. The main bad guy wasn't caught and they didn't even stop that thing about controlling black people. They left it WIDE open for a sequel, either that or there is some deleted ending that they took out to make it shorter.

Well, I liked this movie alot. And after watching it, I thought: "It would kick too much ass if Austin Powers, and Undercover Brother appeared in the same movie." Anyone agree?
Well, I saw Undercover Brother last night and I enjoyed it. I found it to be entertaining. I loved Denise Richards in it, she was HOT HOT HOT! I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel, but Denise MUST return or I'll be very disappointed.
Cool movie moment if they do a sequel:
UCB goes back in time to the 70's (Its GOTTA HAPPEN!) but a glitch in the system briefly sends him to Britain instead of the the Bronx.... he runs into Austin (who ONCE AGAIN is back in time chasing some baddie) They both exchange secret agent tips and UCB is back in his time machine to the Bronx.... I better date this and put in an envelope for copyright protection.. it almost sounds like it could happen! ;)

I hope they do a sequel. The original took me by surprise and is still my favorite comedy from last year.

I hope it gets made too. I just saw it this week and I found it to be a very suprisingly good comedy. I hope if it gets made that Neil Patrick Harris gets more screen time as he was great in every scene he was in.

I liked the original(7.5/10), and would love to see a sequel! It would probably make some serious $$$, if they did.

This is from Dark Horizons:
Undercover Brother 2: The Arizona Daily Star reports that in a recent interview with Eddie Griffin, the comedian stated he'd definitely star in a sequel to "Undercover Brother," and that there's no script yet but he's pushing for his character to go to China.

If you want to read some of an Eddie Griffin interview here: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/040109b.php He mentions that he is interested in returning for an Undercover Brother 2 in the future. That's pretty cool, I'd see it.

It wasn't the funniest movie but it wasn't the worst either. They probably will do another sequel... I wouldn't be surprised.
