for my 666th post, i was wondering if we could get a list of bands that are assiciated with satan (hence the subject header)
Anything ranging from the mocking/satire, to bands that seriously intend the have the "dark overload" rise from the pits of hell, and even bands that aren't satanic, but have been accussed of such
some I thought of -
Ozzy
Thrill Kill Kult
Electic Hellfire Club
Beatles
Zeppelin
Romero&Juliet

Marilyn Manson
Black Sabbath
Motley Crue
Alice Cooper
Nine Inch Nails
The Greatful Dead
Elvis Presley
Robert Johnson
Eating Babies In Church (okay, so I made that one up...)
Sonic Youth (Bad Moon rising)
that's all I got

Tenacious D (yes they are SCHOOLED! BY SATAN!)
Mayhem (obscure and VERY evil norweigan band, read up about em, they're seriously fucked up)
Choking Victim (their album is called "No gods / No Managers" and is covered with various sacriligeous drawings, and in the song crack rock steady they sing "Don't you know that satan is the man")
Toxic Narcotic (Amazing boston hardcore band, they have back patches that say "Team Satan")
Misfits/Samhain/Danzig (All great bands with Glenn Danzig, possibly the best damn singer of all time. He's got quite a satanic bellow, plus they always sing about demons and such)

For some reason Slayer is a band I always associate with Satan
and yes I am a Thrill Kill Kult fan and looking at their lyrics-Satan is big with them
Helloween
way back in the day (70's) KISS was associated as being satanic (you know that Knights in Satan's Service crap)
and my personal favorite-New Kids on the Block (okay maybe it was just me that associated them with Satan)
:p

Mayhem - the singer is dead, shot him self. Someone told me someone ate a piece of his brain off the wall!!!!
Dissection - A great band, however the singer is in prison for murdering a homosexual
Any and all black metal is associated with satan

Obviously Black Sabbath was associated with Satan.
And the funniest one I ever heard accused of Satanism was Rush. A rumor went around in the seventies that Rush stood for Rulers Under Satan's House. Laughable.
Alice Cooper got alot of shit back in the day, also.

Satan Laughs As You Eternally Rot
Yeah I kinda think of Slayer too when I think of Satanic bands. Reign In Blood is a great album, as is South Of Heaven and Hell Awaits.
Surprised no one has mentioned Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast yet.
I also agree with the poster above with Samhain/Danzig. Glenn Danzig has a great voice and wrote great stuff - up until Blackacidevil I don't know if I'd consider the Misfits under the Satanic umbrella - Glenn didn't seem to get really dark until Samhain and the Misfits sang mostly about old horror movies.

WOW! This is the first time on this board I've seen somebody other than myself mention King Diamond. He's my favorite singer. Both bands (King Diamond and Mercyful Fate) are perfection. MF being the one with the most overtly Satanic themes.

Yeah, the Mayhem's singer was actually named Dead. The band later used the photo Euronymous (band leader/guitarist) took of the dead body with splattered head for the cover of one of their live albums. The rumor is that drummer Hellhammer cooked some of the brain in a soup and ate it, and also made a necklace out of fragments of Dead's skull. How much of that is truth and how much is bullshit to promote an image is unknown.
Not all black metal is associated with satan. It would be more correct to say that all black metal is anti-judeochristian ethics/morality/religion. Many black metal bands use norse pagan themes instead of going the satanic route.
