I just saw the trailer, and I can now say, discarding any doubts I may have had previously, that this movie will suck.

I read the interview Arrow had a while back with the director, and while it seemed like it actually might be pretty cool, I couldn't help but notice how the guy kept making comparisons to Resident Evil, ("this movie will have all the blood Resident Evil didn't show", etc.) and it seemed to me like the sole purpose of the making of this film was to outdo Resident Evil.

The director also mentioned that there is a Matrix-like bullet-time action sequence made using 100+ cameras. I thought it might be pretty cool, but the clips it showed in the trailer looked CHEESY AS HELL. Especially since the girl doing the fighting is Chinese and wearing an American Flag bathing suit. And the fight moves used in it are not just Matrix-like, they are completely RIPPED OFF from it (well, except for the fact that one of the people is a zombie and the other is a Chines girl with an American Flag bathing suit).

The zombies in the trailer look, not only almost bloodles despite the director's comments, but they look very very fake. Seriously, this is the kind of make-up you use in Halloween costumes.

Not to mention the music they used in the trailer: it seems like they were going for a dramatic war movie. The music is anything but scary. I hope, for the movie's sake, that it is just a temporary score because if it is really used, it would take the scare-factor away completely. Oh, wait, the scare-factor was already gone when we saw the laughable make-up job on those zombies.

Enough of me talking about how the movie will suck, what do you guys think? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Agreed.

The 2 teaser trailors were horrible !

I can only image how Crazy Taxi's gonna turn out.

I actually think that House of the Dead looks good, loadsa splatter, and if you know me you'll know I love that in a horror movie. There a topic open for this somewhere in the horror section as well, just thought I'd add that.

May I ask where I could find these trailors? I have (Or perhaps had.. who knows) hopes for this movie; I love zombie movies and the games were cool as well.. Damn.

I always thought the House of the dead games weren't as suited to movies as the RE evil games because the plot development was lacking in that there was no plot. I think if they were going to play it out as a movie then they should have gone for a B-movie type, with the release of 8 Legged Freaks giving people a new taste for the tastless 80's in a nutshell genre it'd be cool to see a new take on the Zombie B-movie setting, but o they had to go and try and copy a film which was way out of their league. If you look at the two games one is centered around plot and the other is just plane nonesensical, as a game HOTD was better but as a proper movie, no way. As I said, B-movies are the way to go, I miss them and I want them back.

Well, I totally agree with xirtam. This does look crap and I won't be seeing it when it comes out, the director said he was trying to outdo Resident Evil by adding more gore? Nope sorry fella but thats a bad idea, because Resident Evil didn't need that much gore to carry it, yeah sure there were some moments of blood every now and then but not gallons of the stuff. RE had the atmosphere and coolness to it that carried the film IMO. The House of The Dead will probably do well in the cinemas because of the fans of the games I'm guessing, but I do know one thing and thats I'm not gonna watch this film...EVER!!

Couple of things:

a)Outdoing Resident Evil wouldn't be all that hard.
b)Bullet time should be kept out of all horror movies.
c)Shouldn't we reserve judgement until we've at least seen a trailer or something?

We have seen a trailer, or at least I have. I can't give you the exact link, but you'll find it on the Arrow site.

By the way, yes there is another thread about this movie, but that thread is strictly for people who want to see the movie, this one is for anyone who thinks it will be shit. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif (joking)

I agree, B-movies rock. The HOTD plot's were always pretty ridiculous and minuscule; basically window dressing for the carnage. Which is why I hoped we could get a kick ass Action-Horror zombie movie in the same vein as the games.

Unfortunately, judging by the reception with the reception 8 legged Freaks got, Big budget B-movies may become dormant for a while.

At first I thought it was a video game. Then i realized it was simply a movie with a budget of 4 dollars.
