I came across this movie at the IMDB and it sounds like an excellent thriller. Josh Hartnett is a very good young actor and I'm really happy he was cast for the part, he should do great.

Here's the plot description:

This "Hitchcockian" thriller tells the story of a young New York investment banker (Hartnett) who becomes obsessed with a woman he sees in a cafe, believing her to be his long-lost love, following her home to her apartment, where he waits for her, going so far as to put his engagement on hold. His search soon sends him down a dangerous path...

Based Upon: This is an English-language remake of the 1996 French thriller, L'Appartement, which won Best Foreign film awards from both the British Academy Awards and the British Independent Film Awards. (11/10/01) Formerly listed as The Apartment, the new title is Wicker Park.

What does everyone think?

Just watch the french version. It will probably be better then the remake and you won't have to wait so long.

I don't like to watch anything dubbed or with subtitles. I'll wait for this to be released.

That's a shame Mike, you are missing out on some good flicks. But to each his own.

I have watched some but I prefer watching them in english, otherwise it's too distracting. If the movie is subtitled it's hard to pay attention to what's happening on the screen because you're constantly reading, you can't study facial expressions on the characters faces and you don't notice as much stuff either. If the movie is dubbed then it's distracting because you notice that the lip movements don't match the diologue, and they NEVER get the diologue and lip movements exactly right. So maybe I do miss a lot of great films this way but oh well, it doesn't bother me.

Here's some new news from Dark Horizons, and although I'm glad it's still going somewhere I'm disappointed by this news of the new cast member (I happen to find him annoying). Well, here you go:

Wicker Park: Reuters reports that Matthew Lillard has joined Josh Hartnett on the Lakeshore Entertainment/MGM thriller remake of the 1996 French flick "L'Appartement".

I totally agree with Mike. I will wait for the American version. Remakes are not always bad. Insomnia was in the same situation and it got very good reviews, even here on Joblo.

Just saw a trailer of this movie during Troy. It looks intriguing. Will be anticipating it's arrival.

Damn, 2004 sure seems to be the year of the remakes...

Not that impressed, considering that I liked L'APPARTEMENT and think it should have been released in the US rather than remade.

And Vincent Cassel > Josh Hartnett
