View Full Version : A GUY THING - Starring Julia Stiles, Jason Lee, and Selma Blair...
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00005JLGQ.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
PLOT:
The morning after his bachelor party, a man wakes up and finds a woman in his bed, and because he can't remember much about the night before, he naturally assumes the worst. He spends the week before his wedding scrambling to cover up his supposed infidelity.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for language, crude humor, some sexual content and drug references.
Julia Stiles and Jason Lee would be a good enough reason to see any movie, but this one actually looks and sounds pretty good. I think it will be a funny flick. A Guy Thing opens wide January 17th, 2003.
What does everyone else think?

Should have just titled this movie "Dude, Where's My Pants?"

It sounds like it could be funny. A great cast.

Whatever Jason Lee puts out there, I'll see. And this seems to be one of the better films he's done (hopefully). Selma Blair is one of the better actresses (and very underrated) hanging in the business right now, and Julia is defititely fine by me in any film. I'm eagerly expecting this one.

I for one am really tired of all these damn "sex comedies". The Sweetest Thing, Sorority Boys, Van Wilder, etc. are all crap in my opinion. I'm sure this one will be just the same.

Wow, I almost forgot this one was coming out so soon. I'm really looking forward to it and plan on seeing it in theaters. I know if it was between this and JUST MARRIED, I would definitely choose this, JUST MARRIED can just wait for video. I'm a bigger fan of Stiles than I am Murphy anyway.

I saw the trailer, and it took pretty much an entirely different approach than I had expected, turning into a more "serious", meaningful film halfway through. Of course, that is only a good thing when talking about a film like this, since there's way too many sex-coms out there already.

No thanks, I'll pass on this one. I just saw the trailer today, and despite my liking for Stiles and Blair, the movie looks like crap!
Damn! January sure is shaping up to be one horrible month for film... I'm not that surprised, it's always like this, year after year. Well, for me it is.

I saw the preview a while back before JACKASS, and I must say, A GUY THING looks very generic and predictable. I will not be seeing this one, but I will se JUST MARRIED. ;)

Yeah, but JUST MARRIED looks generic and predictable too, not to mention un-funny. However, I will see both of them, A GUY THING is just my first choice.

This looks as if it could be the start of a mainstream career for Jason Lee. Man, I love the dude! I thought Stealing Harvard was very funny, and underrated, but this one should put him on top!

I like Jason Lee too, I thought he was pretty enjoyable in HEARTBREAKERS, although not as enjoyable as Jennifer Love Hewitt ;). I haven't seen STEALING HARVARD yet though, but I will rent it, especially for the hilarious Megan "Will & Grace" Mullally.

It doesn't look appealing to me, I'd rather go see Just Married.

a guy thing might have to wait. I think this movie looks pretty good with and awesome cast, but there's so damn much i wanna c in January, this movie might have to wait. I would also rather see Just Married.
Wow! I just saw the trailer for the first time on Coming Attractions and it actually looks really good, much better than I was expecting since pretty much everyone here made it sound like it looked horrible. It looks kind of witty but more serious than anything, which is definitely fine and kind of refreshing. I think this will be a really good movie. It looks more mature than Just Married. I will definitely see this before I see Just Married, which looks a little too slapstick in my opinion.

That's exactly what I though, Mike. Before seeing the trailer I thought it'd play more as a straight comedy, but the trailer definitely upped my expectations for it. Now I just hope they manage to avoid all the clichés that come with this story.

I agree, my expectations are definitely higher now than they were. Unfortunately, a more mature movie like this will probably not do as well at the Box Office as an immature slapstick teen flick like Just Married. I'm definitely going to go for A Guy Thing which looks to take a different approach than all of the cliched sex comedies we see so often. It should be a nice time at the movies. I think mostly under 17 teens will be flocking to Just Married while mostly college age+ will see A Guy Thing.

I agree with that. Me and my friend will be seeing JUST MARRIED opening day, and then we may sneak into A GUY THING if she's interested....
