now I didnt much care for Hollywood;s version of Godzilla. What buged me the most was the remade look of him. Just wasnt the Godzilla we know and love but more of a Jurasic Park dino gone wrong.

but wasnt the plan to do 3 of em? I always thought so. I dont remember the 1st being a total flop which means it can always have a sequel. and I thought a few ideas were to bring in Godzilla's son and Mecha-Godzilla. Hell even if it dont look like him id like to see an American version of those ideas.

The movie did not do too well in theaters and it was critically bashed so I think it will be a very long time before anyone decides to make a sequel.

I personally thought that the American version of Godzilla was a good movie. Well it was what I just wanted from it, a movie showing a huge monster attacking a city. I just wanted eye candy from Godzilla and it did not disappoint me in that department. Even though the new look did not bother me that bad because it was based on the original concept art for the first Godzilla movie, deep down I just wanted to see the Godzilla I grew up with.

I enjoyed Godzilla (1998) as well. It was action packed and serve what i wanted i regret not seeing it in the theatre because of the reviews. I atually own the movie. I also saw Godzilla 2000 and had a good time seeing that in the movies as well.

They ruined the good name of Godzilla. Now we all know that the Japanese "Godzilla" flicks weren't good movies by any means. The special effects were horrible, the acting was dreadful and it was always the exact same plot with different monsters. BUT, the thing that made us all love the big green machine was the simple fact that he had personality! Bashing the other monsters was fun for him! Hollywood's version was just a big lizard and that's it. He had no soul. Give me the old flicks any day, and unless they change Godzilla's attitude, I don't want to see a sequel.

Silverload pretty much said it all. Personally, I'm glad the sequels were axed. Why? Two reasons:

1)I thought the first one sucked.

But, even barring that:

2)The fewer uneccesary sequels coming out of Hollywood, the better.
