Taken from Saranthir, over at TORc. I cannot say that I agree 100% with this review, as a 45 minute battle sounds great to me! As does Wormtounge being 'obviously' evil.

Woops, forget to add the link. TORc has been slow lately, so if it doesnt work, try again later.

I was afraid Helm's Deep would repeat itself over and over. I mean with out an R rating all you van get is tame swordfighting. Stabbing Orcs and quick cuts of beheadings will get old so fast. I do like the bit about Gollum being creepier than the Nazgul. Well Slinker and Stinker, must be a scary bee-yatch. I do wish the dude had mentioned Eomer, I think he was the best new character in TTT. I really want to know if Karl Urban is good. I hope he is. The review was a bit underwhelming(too vague). I hope we get a bigger review soon with tons of comments. 'Till then, this was a pleasant suprise.

I think the complaint about Helms Deep will prove to be unfounded, as the battle has so many stages, that it cant really get repetitive. The first stage, is obvious the Uruk-Hai gathering before the walls, and the preliminary fighting. The second will be the Uruks trying to scale the walls. Third will be them breaking through, and the fire of Orthanc, and the retreat to the Caves. Not to mention Gimli, and Legolas, and their Orc count, and Gandalfs arrival, and all that ton of other good stuff. I am thinking that this guy was a purist (much the same as everyone at TORc. well,....mostly everyone) and,.....yeah. Long live HD!!!! And Fry, I got banned from TORc because of my user-name - which is the same as this one. Who might you be over at TORc? Lavas maybe?

lol, you must be kidding. The purists are a dying breed, they are leaving these shores. It is in revisionists that we must place our hope! :D

Nope, I'm "legolas_the_fair". I've been there for ages now, and wished I would have chosen a better username. It's the most ironic name since that angry dwarf signed up as "Big Daddy Cool" ;)

I must agree. If executed correctly, this could one of the greatest bedlams in cinema history; I can hardly wait till December!

Sounds sort of good to me I guess. I just want to see it for myself already.
I must say that I was a bit weary when I first heard that the battle was going to be 45 minutes long.
Even if it does have many different elements, a battle can still become tiring to the senses.
Alas, I'm just putting forth an opinion from what I believe. It may be a completely different opinion, on the other hand, once I am watching the film.
I'll probably be so involved in the action, I won't care how long it is, but I can see why some are concerned.
P.S - How sure are we that the review is real? I'm not too sure about it - He's a little vague to say the least. Nothing is really described, just touched upon.

...I don't know about anyone else, but I though of HD as, less of a battle, and more of a siege - a last stand, chance of Rohan. In that sense, I think the fact that the battle is long, will give more of a sense of - well, you know what I mean. We feel the same as the people in the battle; like the Uruk-Hai could just keep coming, and coming, and coming; and things could just keep getting worse, and worse, and worse. I think that, if anything, it will make the battle more involving, for me anyways.

I'm 100% sure that the battle is several times pushed to background when drama scenes come in. Most likely drama scenes from other places in the book have been transferred to Helm's Deep, so that the highly dramatic environment gives them more power.
