I read in .net magazine that along with Alien Versus Predator Fox are planning to make a movie based on another game, this time Return To Castle Wolfenstein, for anyone not in the know Wolfenstein 3D was the original Doom and Return To is one of the best games of this year (apparantly) never played it myself. Anyone know if there's a plot to the game and any details?
Could be interesting in my opinion.

I think they should do a CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN movie before they do a RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN one, shouldn't they? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif I mean, it'd sound more logical to me, and RETURN could be the sequel. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif
One thing I can tell you is that I've loved both games, and I think they should cast Russell Crowe to be the hero (can't remember the dude's name right now). He'd fit the part perfectly.

Crowe would be great as the character. My beef is that I don't have much confidence in movies based on video games.

Five years later and news has just finally broke on Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Roger Avary (of Silent Hill 2) is slated to write and direct this adaption of the video game. Looks like it might still be a while before we finally see the film but at least SOME progress has been made. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

this is one of those very rare game adaptations that i think might have some hope of turning into an actually good film, while i didn't play the game much myself it had a rather good and interesting overall story which could translate well into a film as long as they don't wimp out and aim for a pg-13 rating

I like Roger Avary a lot, I like Wolfenstein a lot, I'm excited now.
The only thing I ask? Do it dead serious and do it as an R-rating.

The thing that is most interesting is that since there is no plot there is a lot of room for creativity.

The reason why every videogame adaptation has sucked so far is they adapt games with no stories, and they completely botcher the ones that do have stories (Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Silent Hill). Don't really have high hopes for this one.

I liked the DOOM movie. It was a fun ride that paid tribute to my all-time fav game. Could it have been better? Sure. But it still was fun.
What I'm trying to say is that I don't mind mindless video game adaptations as long as they're well made fun rides.
I'm looking forward to a Wolfenstein flick

This is doomed to fail.
I really have no faith in video game adaptations.

This is one of my all time favorite games. I just love the atmosphere and concept.
I always said it would be a perfect candidate for a movie. But it will need film makers who actually care to make a good movie and a $100 million budget.
