Hey, I really don't know if this post goes here or not, but I'll just take my chances and hope it doesn't get closed before I get an answer...
My question is for anyone who has read the Fellowship of the Ring script in the scripts section of this site, or the people who put it up there. I just want to know if it is the theatrical version of the film, or the extended version? Also, is it a screenplay or a transcript?
Please answer someone...thanks!

Thats an interesting question that i've been wondering myself. I have it printed out (i think i got it here) and it is written in screenplay style. Now that doesn't neccessarily mean that its not technicly a "transcript". It could have been transcribed and then typed in screenplay form. Evidence would say no though, because there are lines that are not in the theatrical version i'm pretty sure. It could be the extended version or just an earlier draft that had some changes by the time it was shot. From what I know about the extended version this is not it because the scenes we know to have been added are not in here, such as the giving of the gifts at Lothlorien. My guess is that it is an earlier version.

Well, this was replied to later than I thought, and I just went ahead and read it (I didn't want to read it if it was for the extended version, because I didn't want to spoil it for myself, and I only wanted to read it if it was a screenplay and not a transcript, because then what would be the point?) and from what I see, it is the theatrical version (otherwise the extended version would be almost no different than the original) and it is a screenplay--I was reading it at the same time as watching the movie, and there are VERY FEW things that are different, but there still are a few, and a transcipt would be exactly accurate to the movie. Thanks anyway!
Now I wonder if Joblo will post a script for the Extended Version?

It's the normal script. I bought the script a week before the movie came out. It's 118 pages in length.
