I prefer Fangoria because they have coverage on horror films all over the world. That's the only horror magazine that I see that does coverage on the latest Japanese Godzilla movies.

I've been a fan of Fangoria since the beginning and own every issue. I've just picked up on Rue Morgue about a year ago and am only missing a few issues. Both are great mags, but Rug Morgue covers a wider spectrum of the horror genre (comic books, soundtracks, goth).

I've yet to read Rue Morgue (it seems cool), but I've been subscribing to Fangoria for a few years. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny.

I think Fangoria is a bit better.I have a couple of the older issues I picked up at a Flea Market. The issue with A Nightmare on Elm Street and ROTLD.Also Evil Dead issue as well

I like both, but my Rue Morgue mags always fall apart on me.

Hmm, good question. I just recently picked up my first issue of Rue Morgue and liked it considerably. It is very hard to track down around here though, and I've put off a subscription.
However, Fango is the standard by which all others are judged. If I had to pick one, and only one, I guess I'd go with Fangoria.
If I had the chance, I'd subscribe to both of 'em.

I've only picked up a couple of each, but I would have to say I liked Fangoria more.

Used to be FANGO, but after too many disappointing reads (ie: MAJOR spoilers, Fear Dot Com covers, etc...), I've switched over to RUE MORGUE. They focus on GOOD horror films, and not just whatever the studios pay them to be on the cover. Blech! Don't get me wrong, I still hold a subscription to Fango for in-depth coverage of bigger films, but for my true horror desires, I turn to RM.

Not gonna knock FANGO; they've been there for me since the early 80's, and I have nearly every issue. But RUE MORGUE is without a doubt the better magazine at this point, IMO. They're not as limited in their scope, and they do focus on quality over hype. FANGO has tried to diversify a bit lately, doing special issues on Italian and Japanese horror, but RUE MORGUE has that sort of reach in every issue. And it's cheaper.
I have seen the future of horror rags, and it's name is RUE MORGUE...

I feel like Fango has been the Father
And Rue Morgue it's only begotten Son to bring horror into the new millenia.
Rue Morgue is better, faster, stronger.
