The buffed up Yoda is worth the purchase by itself!

Who is looking forward to this gem?

I will be buying, but just no the first weekend. I'll be broke from the Spider-Man DVD, the Fellowship of the Ring Special Edition DVD, and tons of advance tickets for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I will probably get this in its third week. Widescreen, of course. It is sad that this visual marvel will be butchered into Fullscreen. A tragedy to be sure.

Tuesday I'm there. Saw the film six times. Loved it. Can't wait for the DVD, either.

WOW!!! This is one spectacular DVD! I had seen EPISODE II at the theatre 9 times, so I was completely psyched for the widescreen DVD. I picked up mine at midnight with the Wal-Mart $9.98 special which is an absolute steal!
I have quite an extensive DVD collection and this easily has the best picture. The transition from digital film to the DVD format was perfect. The picture was vibrant and fluid and there was absolutely no grain...not even the slightest! Amazing. The sound was just as impressive...Slave 1's ciesmic charge explosions during the asteroid chase still blow me away.
The extras are even more impessive than EPISODE I's special features. As with THE PHANTOM MENACE DVD, the 1138 trick works here too...and the outtakes are hilarious!!! I think Hayden Christensen is awesome, but I had no idea he was such a klutz! Very funny stuff folks, believe me. The 8 deleted scenes are very nice, but you can understand why they were deleted. I wish they had left in the scene with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu on the Jedi landing platform. Also, I feel that showing Padme's family would have made you understand and appreciate her character a little more. I enjoyed the audio commentary even though I think there are too many cooks here trying to make dinner at the same time. I appreciate all of their hard work, but I really think we only need to hear George Lucas' thoughts, and maybe even Rick McCallum's. Lucas does indeed drop several key hints to the plot of EPISODE III which is really cool. He also explains why Jango Fett was so easily disposed of by Mace Windu, which was a little relief to me personally. The two features documentaries ("From Puppets To Pixels" and "State of the Art: The Pre-visualization of EPISODE II") were very enlightning. The joke Lucas plays on Christopher Lee with a Yoda maquette was very funny, and a little cruel from Lee's standpoint. All of the featurettes, web doumentaries, trailers, tv spots (be sure and check out "Biggest Action Hero"...over the top, yes. Very funny too) and the other goodies make this a must have for any collector. Even if you're not into STAR WARS, I think this is a great buy and a DVD that actually lives up to all the hype.

I love the deleted scenes. Why they were deleted I'll never know. I suppose that the scenes were "lagging" somehow. I still see them as pivotal. I haven't seen much else yet, but I'm going to make time for it this weekend. Sound and picture on this film were fantastic. It's very obvious that Lucasfilm is dedicated to it's craft. I'm looking forward to the rest.

This DVD is only OK in the audio department and great in features and video other then that the movie it comes with sucks.

I would go as far to say it sucks worst then Epsiode 1. E1 was slightly fun were as this one was just boring untill the very end. Yoda will always be cool but nothing else stood out.

i have a question, every time i pop in the dvd it always shows the courisant menu... I've tried a lot of times but it purposly always automaticly goes to that menu. The only way i could get the others is to slide the dvd into my computer. Does anyone know how to get it back in the random mode?
