Perhaps its meant as a set-up to introduce the next generation of free humans, especially the offspring of Trinity and Neo.

Maybe they'll use special effects or creative shots to enhance it and make it a new breed of sex scenes that will be subsequently copied and spoofed many times in other films?

I tottaly agree, when i read this i was kind of in shock. This first was great it had no sex scenes and language was kept at a minimum which parents didn't mind letting there little ones watch the film. Put a sex scene in the movie will ruin things for the matrix, its deffinently not needed or wanted for that matter.

these next films are also about Neo growing emotionally aswell as kicking butt, and i think this scene should fit well into it. its not all guns and kung fu ya know....

I don't think it fits the movie at all. Especially the way Joel Silver describes it (I'll try to find what he says about it tomorrow or the day after). But let's wait and see.

I think its perfectly fine. This trilogy isn't there just for showing awesome effects and kung-fu, but it tells a story. I personally love the plot. And i think that showing that NEO and TRINITY are intamite is a good thing.

This is a bad idea. The first film was cool without sex. I hope the Wachowskis have not ogtten cheap. The only hope I see is if they film this like the uber-cool sex scene in Fight Club.

Bad Idea. there just giving energy to stupid spoof films, such as Scary Movie 1 and 2 and now that 3 is coming out maybe movies shouldnt set themselves up for people to spoof.
