I can not wait for this film, i am a huge Sonny Chiba fan, and of course, one huge Quentin Tarantino fan! I love kun-fu movies and just the thought of David, Sonny and Uma together in a movie written and directed by Tarantino, who knows these type of films like the back of his hand, is a dream for film fans. Here are some more pics from the set, which is almost wrapping up it's china shoot.

*drool* this film is looking quite good, I hope so much that QT can pull it off.

Charlie's Angel's 2 anyone?

Seriously, I'm quite intruiged by the film and the storyline. I know absolutely nothing about the production really, other than the theme of the film, and the guy who's directing it.
I'm not looking forward to it much, but I'm sure it will be worth a look.

This film looks quite good, from these dazzling pictures. That yellow suit Uma is wearing looks a lot like the on Brue Lee wore in Game of Death. This looks very good, and cannot wait for it's arrival.

Your absolutley right blankpage~!

QT even said the outfit is inspired by Bruce Lee.

This in no way resembles Charlie Angels, the only resemblance is that a female is the lead. She is not some chick who gets what she wants by seduction and cheap wire effects with 1,000 stunt doubles, so sir-e, she is a real character with real emotions, not a cameron diaz slut. The movie plays like old school kun-fu/speggetie westerns, a georgous female lead doesn't change that, she plays it real.

Check out some old school kun-fu movies to see what im talking about, like Sonny Chibas Shogans Shadows. That is the kind of impression we will get from Kill Bill.

I'm a little more iffy on this movie. I read most of the script and there's really not much of a story. I know it's a "tribute" to the old Sonny Chiba/Bruce Lee movies, but this isn't one of my anticipated movies

You mean Bruce Lee? I actually think it's the same one except different version.

but Game Of Death was interesting to watch!

I remember reading that one scene required 1,000 gallons of blood, and took as long to shoot as ALL of Pulp Fiction...hehe, should be interesting.

1000 gallons of blood? What is this, EVIL DEAD 4? Myself, I think its something of an insult to have Uma wearing the Bruce Lee outfit.

Because Bruce Lee is Bruce Lee. He was the Real Deal. QT may think it's a homage, but I think it isn't. Just one Bruce Lee fan's opinion.

So, was it an insult to have the goalie in Shaolin Soccer wearing the same outfit? I don't think so. It's an affectionate homage. I'm pretty damn sure that Quentin Tarantino has a huge amount of respect for Bruce Lee and his movies. I think Kill Bill is thus far looking pretty damn fine. I just hope it's wall to wall carnage from start to finish. I'm betting that Uma does some pretty serious damage with that sword. I'm picturing limbs flying through the air, fountains of blood, ears and noses hitting the walls, bodies neatly bisected from head to crotch falling slowly apart, a samurai sword in one hand and a shotgun in the other, countless homages to a million martial arts movie classics and plenty of that good old Tarantino dialogue. This movie is gonna be good times from start to finish. It's detractors better prepare themselves. Work up a big ol' appetite. Y'all are gonna be eating your words when Kill Bill hits the cinema.

Never saw Shaolin Soccer and don't care to; what makes you think the ratings board will allow such carnage in the first place? I enjoyed PULP FICTION, but where have you been QT, besides embarrassing yourself on ALIAS?

What was up with that guest star thing on "Alias"?

Mr. Orange

That's one thing I don't like about QT. He carries himself like a celebrity. Like a superstar. Sure he might be famous but it's still very annoying. It's like he he's going over board with guest appearences and cameos. He stop wasting time doing that shit and write!

what makes you think they won't allow it? Quentin was going to make Kill Bill sooner but Uma was pregnet, hes back so lay off.

In the Kill Bill script it actually says that the tracksuit Uma (The Bride) is wearing is identical to that worn by Bruce Lee in Game of Death. The script, by the way, is terrible, but it's an unspecified draft and the potwntial for it is unsettlingly phenomenal. that said, no way is Tarantino going to be allowed to put so much of the violence on-screen - I just can't see it. Still, as with any great director's movies, I anticipate this being an excellent movie.

And MyClone. You should definately check out Shaolin Soccer. That movie kicks ass. It should hit U.S. theaters like in February.

Kill Bill looks sweet! MMMMmmmmmm Katana's!!!

I love sword slicing and dicing. This is my most highly anticipated movie besides Jet Li's new movie HERO. And fucking Miramax won't release that shit!!!

Is it more than about soccer? I don't like soccer whatsoever, probably from being kicked in the face and losing a front tooth during a game in my youth.
I'm looking at the Uma wearing the Bruce outfit strictly from being a Bruce Lee fanatic POV. I'm praying the movie (KILL BILL) kicks some major ass, but I wish QT would just lay off the so-called "homages" a tad. The guy can write, but falling back on using other movies for references is getting a little lazy, writing-wise.

Alright look, those pictures are sweet, and "Pulp Fiction" and "Reservoir Dogs" are two of my favorite movies, and Quentin Taratino is a very talented writer and director... but the entire storyline of the film is so simple. There's really not much to it at all.

Oh well, I'm still looking forward to seeing Kill Bill... but my hopes are not that high right now.

Lucy isn't annoying when she is evil. She was cool in the movie Payback.

MyClone, Shaolin Soccer is about soccer, but its nothing like you have seen before in soccer. They kick the ball and it becomes flames and hits people and they go flying back into the goal posts and stuff. Its great!!! I am sure you will see trailers for it soon enough in theaters.

Best way to describe it is like the game Super Dodge Ball on nintendo if you have ever played that. How each person has a super move that warps the ball and sends them flying.

Kill Bill will be great! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif And all QT movie story lines are simple. His movies are not about the story, its about the characters!!!

MyClone

Yikes! Me and my fake front tooth definitely won't be going to Shaolin Soccer, as just thinking of a flaming ball coming at me would make the rest of my front teeth hurt! And Lucy Lui always looks crossed-eyed to me when I see her in anything, plus anyone who supposedly slaps Bill ("It's in the hole!") Murray is no friend of mine!

From what I can tell, Kill Bill is going to rock my fucking socks off! I love japanese action flicks and this one already looks SOOOOO COOL!!! AHH! Just thinking of, Uma slicing and dicing a bunch of Yakuza up with blood spraying everywhere. That is gonna rock! So what if the MPAA gives it an NC-17 rating? I mean they can always cut it down to R and then release the DVD Uncut. Whatever happpens you can be sure, Quentin is gonna make cinematic history, AGAIN!

P.S. - FUCK THE MPAA! YOU FUCKING BASTARDS!!!

that 1st picture i thought was a fake because of the outfit. i figured someone put Uma's head on Bruce Lee. Then I scolled down and saw the other pictures. it looks pretty cool so far!

lucy liu is okay, but I'm more concerned about the girl in the plaid mini walking to her right. what's her story?

and yes, all tarrantino scripts seem pretty simple to me:

RD - Crooks go on a bumbled diamond heist
TR - A couple in love must avoid a gangster the ripped off
NBK - A modern Bonnie and Clyde
PF - A day in the life of two hitmen, and a boxer who's been asked to throw a fight
JB - Pam Grier pulls a heist and falls in love with the help of an assortment of crazy supporting characters.

This will rawk, I read somewhere that there will be shitloads of Shaw Brothers. Style Camera Tricks(close up on eyes and what not)

.But What can I say? QT is a HUGE Asian Movie Fan (Chungking Express, baby!) and is displaying it on screen. It'll be fun, but it won't be a masterpiece, but damn good fun. Even tho it doesn't sound like it will be more graphic and INSANE then Fudoh (Japanese Revenge Movie)... (heh, like QT would have chicks shooting darts out of their pussy... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif)

I'm only looking forward to Chapter 4...the battle in the Karoake Club! (hence the huge Yakuza battle 8))

Uma...you look damn fine in that suit http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

as for Shaolin Soccer...stay away from the "movie release" of it. Knowing those shitheads at Disney, they will redub it with rap, dubbed the charactors and make it more "Americanized". Hell, they were gonna name it "Kung Fu Soccer" at one point...If only I had a Bazooka, I'd tear Mickey Mouse a new asshole...

Oh yeah, that Japanese Schoolgirl was in Battle Royale (not sure who) So this will REALLY rawk my b0x0rs then http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I am not looking forward to this film at all. It looks quite horrible. I started to read the script, but found it quite boring. I am a big fan of Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown, but this film looks like a cheap kung-fu film. Uma Thurman is a horrible actress and I ahve always avoided her films. David Carradine, a hack. He was on The Disney Channel's great show, Lizzie Maguire. PUKE! I am a big Liu fan, but I heard her role is very small. No thanks. I will stick with films that have actual coolness in them. This film looks like a glossy turd. Quentin, get yor ass out of China and come back to where you make your good films, America. I do not really care about your fanboy take on their great films. I hope to take me samurai sword and hack this film to pieces.

P.S. I was just kidding. This film looks awesome and I hotly anticipate it!

That trailer was amazing. First, I am glad QT went against the norm and did not use MR. VOICE. The hip music works so much better. Second, while the teaser does not tell much about the story, it proves this film is going to have amazing visuals. It is like nothing I've seen. Very original. The highlight is the snow fight between Thurman and Liu. I also was happy to see QT's trunk shot. Third, sadly the taglines near the start will go over most people's head. I can hear it now "Who's Quentin Tarantino?". Pity............

This trailer stays true to the old trailers for his other movies... huge text bridging quick clips together, thats what makes it a tarantino movie, the goofy huge text.
Great trailer by the way! If it is an indication of anything to come, the tone looks really cool and Uma Thurman looks like she can kick some serious ass!

That suit is not identical to bruce lee's. It is a two piece the top of which is a biking jacket. Lee's was a one piece running suit. It was meant to like represent flexability and fluidity. The whole formless deal he was into. I dunno if I like the "homage" with the suit. It'll depend on how the movie holds up. If it's stupid and charlies angels I won't dig it. If it's well done and filled with substance....then I guess it's cool.

Oh and sonny chiba kinda sucks. It's bloody crap fu. Tarantino may pull some stuff from his street fighter movies but I think he'll grab from KUNG-FU and just basic bruce lee more than anything.

the movie looks like a mix of:

1970's Charlies angels.
KUNG-FU
Kato- Green hornet
Bruce lee films
Bond
and christ any and all martial arts movie ever made.

I hope its good.
It'll prolly be good.

No shit. Duvall was freaky as hell in that movie. And she is annoying. But I guess that's the sign of a great director, getting a good performance out of a not-so-good actor, like Kubrick/Duval, or Bryan Singer/and the Baldwin in "Usual Suspects." He sucks in everything else, but he was good in that. And is it just me or did M. Night Shamalayan get an actual performance out of New Kid Donny Wahlberg. He did such a good job in that, I didn't even know it was him. That's the sign of a good actor, when you forget their name and totally invest yourself in the character. Ok, I'll stop now. I seem to be rambling. Oh yeah, Kill Bill looks like some cool shit. I love Tarantino's movies.

i watched Reservoir Dogs today for the first time. Wasn't the greatest film, but it was a fun screenplay.. and i've seen Pulp before and thought it kicked ass. So i'm anticipating this film too. It looks fun. Not as much as Reloaded/Revolutions, or T3.. but it may be 4th on the list.

The trailer kicked so much ass that it isn't even funny. Action looks really good and the visuals are very, very impressive. I hope that the script delivers well as no-brainer popcorn, since I think that's what Tarantino is aiming for.

There were several images in the trailer that really impressed me. Especially the snowy location with Uma and Lucy. And the silhuette picture with Uma fighting some bad guys. And the bird angle shot of bad guys approaching her. This film looks *very* slick.
