SWEET!! Next to The Matrix Reloaded, T3 is my most anticipated Summer 2003 release. I am praying that it will be awesome. From the pictures I've seen so far and from what I have read I will not be disappointed.

These pics do restore some faith I have in the film, but I still believe it'll take a whole lot away from the first two classics. Oh well, we'll see how this film is in June.

Pretty slick, this isn't a negetive thing, but can anyone else see the aging in his mouth? I still think the movie is going to kick ass, and of course it wont make a bit of difference (he looked nothing like he did in the terminator in T2).

Still, it is going to blow the box office out of this world, theres no doubt!

What are you guys talking about? Terminators don't age, they just wear and tear and eventually go off line.

Maybe this is the "older but still kick ass" terminator model. With wrinkles.

Take two Placebos and call me lame...

You'll have to go there for the bigger version. I think that's John Conner he's strangling, which must be something to do with AHnuld changing sides quite a bit..

http://images.countingdown.com/images/countdowns/movies/1557/1011/2449604_main.jpg

I think that early on in the film the t-800 gets his face cut up so bad that the endskeleton shows through, and like in the first terminator, he has to conceil it so he can go into public. So John or his girlfriend (claire danes) stiches him up.

to prevent spoilers, im not posting the only known picture of the terminatrix, click this link if you wan to see her- http://www.countingdown.com/movies/terminator3/multimedia/images?item_id=981840

Hey man, don’t be so shallow. Arnold is not really a Terminator he does age, so what I could care less that he looks older now then he did 18 years ago in Terminator. This movie looks it will kick all kinds of ass and it is my most anticipated movie ever.

I hope this film really does work out.

Can anyone confirm that this is the longest wait for a sequel next to Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (Not that TPM is a sequel mind, but you know what I'm getting at).
Eleven years....That's a very long time.

When I first saw The Terminator I thought it would be an incredible sight just to see a T-800 (without the skin) fighting something/someone*. Obviously the technology wasn't up to that at the time, but now the opportunity is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing a whole metal skeleton in action!...To imagine the sight is making me more excited to see the film. Note: I know we actually saw the metal skeleton fighting in the first film, but with new freedom and realism with CGI, it should really be a sight to see.

Of course, these are only a few images and I'm not thinking too positively yet.
I'll look forward to the next trailer, then I'll make a firmer judgement.

I to am waiting for T3 but i don't know if I'm going to like it. I thought that they changed the future at the end of the second film. If they did then why is there another terminator coming back. Unless it's to fix a paradox, or John Connor is the reason for the terminators all along I don't know.

But hey thats just me and I do want to see it. The pics look great.

Invincible

[BELOW IS THE OPINION OF A FRIEND OF MINE, EXEGETE REVENANT (who forgot his login password):]

"Some notes regarding Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

THIS MOVIE WILL SUCCEED ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING ARE APPLIED:

(A), extended and re-vamped FUTUREWAR sequences. Not only is this integral to the Terminator plot/timeline, but it is always a pleasure to see fantastically-shot war sequences featuring the Battle Engines and HKs of a SKYNET-controlled future.

(B), total independence from the series of books by S.M Stirling ("Infiltrator" and "Rising Storm"). These books went completely astray from the original Pax Camerona concept and were generally a complete disappointment: ESPECIALLY considering that the author didn't fully research the films, forced to "make up" his own (quite inferior) method for the access/removal of Cyberdyne processors.

(C), long, satisfying Miles Dyson flashback. Because (C1) I love Joe Morton III, and I also (C2) think Miles Dyson is his best character. This could perhaps take the form of him "stashing" a special, super-secure store of research materials somewhere, to explain the recovery of Terminator blueprints and the Skynet Defense Network Satellites plan. Unable to destroy it with the more public record, because of his tragic death . . .

(D), complete independence from the T2: 3D plotline, which (sadly enough) was written by James Cameron. To give you an example of just how B-movie-ish this was, one of the line exchanges is:

JOHN CONNOR. "How come there's no guns?"

T-800 (ARNOLD). "Skynet has only one defense mechanism left. But it's a good one."

JOHN CONNOR. "What?"

(cheesy music as a HUGE mound of liquid metal squirms below them, at the heart of a gigantic blue pyramid whose external walls look like "active" circuit boards)

T-800 (ARNOLD): "The T-One Million."

(E), new "nuclear holocaust" sequences, completely redone with CGI, modeled after FUSION BOMB TESTS (i.e., TZAR BOMBA [Soviet, 58MGT]; or ROMEO [US, 15MGT]) and including detailed, close-up shots of our most cherished landmarks being ripped to dust.

(F), interior shots of the "SKYNET BUILDING" itself and the TIME TRAVEL device (described in the original T2 draft) within -- which looks amazingly like the armillery sphere/transportation device in CONTACT, except the rotating/interlocking rings are chromed, and permit only one lean soldier at a time.

(G), Michael Beihn, reprising Kyle Reese.

(H), homages/innuendoes to James Cameron's other legends, i.e. ALIENS, THE ABYSS, even TRUE LIES. Like a burnt-out gas station with "Benthic Petroleum" (ABYSS company) on one of its rusted tanks. Or "WEYLAND YUTANI: BUILDING BETTER WORLDS" (ALIENS) appears somewhere, on a book or some old, bent billboard.

(I), Music perfectly preserved from the first and second films. NOTHING SHOULD BE CHANGED about this. All music should be done by the very competent BRAD FIEDEL, who is the only composer that sees James Cameron's vision in the "T" movies.

(J), cool, fresh "David Fincher" shots that allow the watcher to PLUNGE into the internal clockwork of the Terminator, while it puzzles out a problem, perhaps accompied by corresponding narration from one or more of the movie's characters. Even if this were only in relation to the PROCESSOR itself, it'd be a worthy move.

(K), a rival human faction called THE REAPER CLAN who indoctrinate eachother with the human-hating aphorisms of Skynet, and worship it and all of the machines in a cultish fashion. Tattoos of the ancient Cyberdyne logo spot their foreheads or lower necks.

(L), tanks and weapons from the era we're familiar with, perhaps augmented by technology of the future (i.e., ordinary rounds replaced with "plasma slugs"). This applies mostly, but is not limited, to the human resistance.

(M), aerial battles with airborne HKs and resurrected US or other flying craft.

(N), sequence featuring the "Connor Liberation Front Fortress," or something approximating this, called GIBRALTAR. Huge castle-like structure built from hundreds of tons of scrap pig iron and concrete. HUGE bastions project out into the air, the entire monumental structure located far at the edge of battle. Approaching TANKS and other VEHICLES are required to undergo a rigorous security-check procedure. Fifty automated GAU-1 30mm Gatling gun-like weapons perch erect over its main gate, facing out, constantly scanning.

(O), the interior of this and a unique portrayal of how its military commander-to-private heirarchy operates.

(P), subtle comparison of SARAH CONNOR against Laura Croft, particularly how the latter was outright plagiarised from the former. A quick exhange between two resting soldiers, perhaps, one crumpling up a sheet of computer print-out with a hazy gray-and-black rendition of a Laura Croft-like heroine. Then the opposite soldier says, "Never can match the real Sarah."

(Q), John Connor's futurewar WIFE. Extremely attractive. And his CHILD, Lucas.

(R), future COMPUTERS and what they are like -- I want it to remain in the T1/T2 frame of reference, however, so the only computers have to be rather shitty, orange-and-black monochrome COMMAND LINE INTERFACE devices, that control and automate much of the weaponry and military structure of the rag-tag Connor Liberation Army in a very NIGHT RIDER/EIGHTIES fashion. Simply because this is the coolest way to go about it.

(S), NO CLONING/RESURRECTION OF SARAH CONNOR. We've had enough.

(T), NEVER-BEFORE SEEN Skynet weaponry, such as the Centipedes (little segmented drones that wriggle into bunkers and explode) and Centurions (four-legged mobile gunpods) observed in James Cameron's original T2 draft.

(U), Futurewar SEX! Imagine. Shaved heads bobbing with machine-like precision. Tattered cloth, patched together from the uniforms of fallen comrades . . . discarded in a concrete bunker-corner. Then -- BASH! The terminator fleet has arrived! Rip-rip-rip-rip-rip-rip, right along the sheets, dots of blood as the machine-gun melee passes across their intimately entwined forms. Or, not.

(V), special sequence featuring the TERMINATOR FACTORY, where model after model of the T-800 are lined up, in various stages of completion. In one aisle rest a hundred powerful-seeming sleeping ARNOLDS, and in another, some different human body-type, and yet another, and another as we pan row after row. One, locked away in what appears to be a "special sector," -- only one -- resembles JOHN CONNOR himself.

(W), build a subplot around this.

(X), EXPLAIN HOW FUEL IS OBTAINED IN A POST-APOCALYPTIC ERA, for all the vehicles -- Skynet's and the human resistance's -- to function. This could even be so outrageous as to include mention of special "power generators" of a presently unknown, exotic technology which requires "a thimble of alcohol a day" to operate for something silly -- like 3,000 years.

(Y), John Connor meets up with his "Budnick" friend from the SECOND FILM in T3, when he's the Nick Stahl age. In a hunch, "Budnick" (sans mullet) extracts the old ATARI PORTFOLIO which Connor used to filch money out of ATMs. It "saves the day" in an unexpected, perhaps slightly outrageous, way. But is sacrificed in doing so.

(Z), CLOSE THE CIRCLE. FINALIZE ALL PLOT THREADS. LEAVE OPEN NO OPTION FOR ANOTHER SEQUEL."

I am not trying to sound like a sexist pig, but I really wish they would not have gotten some girlie girl to play the Terminator. How are we supposed to consider her a legit threat? They should have gotten Chyna to play the role, man.

Or better yet, they should have gotten Vin Diesel to play the evil Terminator. That would have ruled. Since Vin Diesel is the new-school action star, and Arnold is the old-school action star. Old lion vs. Young lion. Doesn't get any better than that, IMHO.

I also wish ol' James could have directed and written the movie, and that Edward Farlog could have played John Conner. But oh well. Take what you can get I guess. I am still really looking forward to seeing it. I truly cannot wait, as I am also a big fan of the Terminator movies.

Okay, screw it. I am going to just be a sexist pig in that case.

They should not have gotten some skinny-ass girlie girl to play the Terminator. How is she supposed to be intimidating?

I am fine with James not directing or writing the movie, and I am fine with Edward not playing John Conner, but darn it all to hell...they should have gotten Vin Diesel to play the evil Terminator. I heard rumors that he may have gotten the role, and was sad as hell when he did not. Vin Diesel vs. Arnold would have kicked ass. Old lion vs. Young lion. The young action star vs. The Old action star. Action movie's past meets action movie's future. It would have ruled.

But if the Terminator just HAD to be a female, why get some little girl who couldn't scare a cat to play the role? I AM going to whine about that one. Chyna or Nicole Bass would have been the better choice, because those two are scary. Some short chick who I have never even heard of, is not.

It sounds to me like the makers of T-3 are just trying to appeal to the MTV crowd, which I think kinda sucks. The hell with all these pretty people playing the roles.

T-3 better be good, damnit. I tell you that much. It better rule some ass, because next to wanting to see a Rocky VI....T-3 has been a movie I have been waiting for, for a long-ass time. And it better not be some teenie bopper horror kinda flick that is only a "flavor of the month" to all the kids. And it better not be some other movie where the teen girls can scream their little heads off at stuff that is not even that scary.

EDIT: BTW, what I mean by "flavor of the month" is that T-3 gets all this hype and all the kids are raving over it...then in a month, the next big movie comes out and no one even remembers T-3.

T-1 and T-2 left a preminent scar on the world after they were released. I question if T-3 can do the same.
