I've read many posts where schmoes discuss the good and bad points of various DVDs they've bought or are thinking about buying. And I must say....I envy you guys totally! Here in Australia, we've got the bare bones of horror entertainment available on DVD. Most of the more recent horror films out in time for the DVD revolution are available, but I'm talking about the older films. I've gotten hold of Halloween 1 and 2, Poltergeist and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Poltergeist came with ZERO extras), but that's about all that's available. Friday the 13th parts 2 to 5 are available and I'm saving up....but where's part 1? Where's the rest? Where's Nightmare On Elm Street, My Bloody Valentine, April Fool's Day, The Prowler, Prom Night, Hellraiser? The list goes on. A DVD release schedule reveals that in the next two months I can expect Stephen King's It, Buffy Season 5, Friday part 8 and Pet Sematary parts 1 and 2. That's it.

Anybody else in Australia sick of how us horror fans get treated? It seems EVERYTHING gets released before horror does. Any sympathetic schmoes from elsewhere in the world should also post here.

I don't have a dvd player yet....() but i will very soon. However, the fact remains, Australia has virtually no horror scene whatsoever, and it pisses me off. If u like argento, all his movies are now on dvd here so rush out and get em. I still collect VHS and have all those movies mention but allot of them are cut by those bastard censors (eg. the prowler). Ah, well, be patient phillip, good things come to those who wait. THings like anger and frustration.
