View Full Version : Just my rant

What is everybodys problem with Resident evil, Blair Witch, and the like. When ever I see a post one these two I see more people bashing these two great movies (as well as BWP2) then there are people praising them or just giving good reviews. WTF I noticed here that it the movie is big buget then it has to be a good movie or if it has big name actors and other sh*t like that.

I'm really starting to hate big buget movies because of this. They go over board with it, over advertise it (LOTR for instance) no matter where I look that's what i see. With Resident Evil I didn't see all that much advertising (i think I only saw 3-4 trailers fo in on tv) Blair Witch is saw a bit more but not too much. But these big buget movies get shoved down our throat, it's like those hit songs that the radio stations play twice an hour I just about wanna puke after a month of that.

I know I'm not making any sense at all in my rant but i don't care.

Also when they mae sequels of BWP and Resident Evil they wil make money from the true RE and BWP fans. Who realy wants to see a movie taken straight from a game (you already know the story line, who the backstabbers are and whats going to happen) And with BWP, they created they're own little world and I think thats cool and now I want to know that back story of this myth (who cares if it never happened do you actually show that last moments of peoples lives jsut to make money)

Now I'm going to get on the subject of 9/11 movies. The towers are gone and 3000 people died get over it (i do feel sad for them) but life goes on. Have them make a movie about it while the facts are still straight and have the proceeds help the families effected and maybe help build a memorial.

Well I think I've ranted enough today maybe I'll have more to rant about tomorrow I don't know but I already feel better.

It all comes down to personal prefrence. I like the movies with big budgets and big name actors and I don't care for the two movies you mentioned. It's almost all personal prefrence.

Exactly...it's everyone's opinion whether they like big movies or the ones you mentioned.

i am glad you feel better about ranting. but i have some comments. first, i liked the first blair witch project. i thought the 2nd one was awful. i never cared if it never happened....

and the 9/11 thing. i don't think a movie should be made at all. i think its a very sensitive topic, and i think it would be bad to make a movie. i am sure they will make a movie of this, they have of many other sensitive topics, but thats how i feel.

1st of all, I liked Blair Witch. However, it was one of the most hyped movies of 1999. I don't know how you couldn't of heard that much about it. Remember they released it in the theaters to sold out crowds, then went on a big campaign to have the video out by Halloween. AND they had that FOX special on TV.

Also, Blair Witch was cheap to make, but they spent just as much money marketing it as they would any other movie.

Resident Evil? That movie cost $35 million to make. Sorry man, but that's not a low budget movie.

And a 9/11 movie? Sounds expensive to produce. Maybe Paul Anderson can pull it off.

I believe he was saying that it's low in juxtaposition to something like LOTR...

But, point duly noted :).

Oh, and as for a 9-11 movie... No.

This is REALLY not necessary. Life is just starting to get back to some semblance of normality, so I don't think that we need to relive what happen on that horrible day.

If it's done the right way, and gives justice to both the victims and the heros then I'm all for it. It could be a very powerful piece of cinema.

Or it could be an exploitive piece of garbage. BTW is it just me or do we seem to disagree a lot?:)

i DEFINATELY agree. i was just talking about this exact topic this morning with my mom. i don't feel they should make a movie about 9/11. but hollywood or where ever makes movies about everything, so i wouldn't be suprised if they did. i just hope maybe this time they don't. i don't feel the twin towers should be out of every movie, but i just dont feel a 9/11 movie would be appropriate. of course, that hasn't stopped movies about real life bombings, murders, the Holocaust and other horrible events that have happened. i just hope they don't do it this time.

***Voice oozing with sarcasam***

Maybe they could do with it what they did to pearl harbor and Titanic. Have a quaint little love story going on. A girl's true love is on the plane that crashes into the north tower. Maybe SHE'S in the North Tower too.

You know damn well that's what they're gonna do.

I'm almost done witha script for a 9/11 movie. Only the movie is really not about the tragedy, but about good choices, bad choices, fogiving of yourself, and suicide.
