7/10
It's pretty good but it has virtually no gore or scary scenes...
It's more of a not so thrilling thriller than a horror movie but it was fun to watch anyway

It's comming out here in the UK soon... I think I'll go along and see it, after watching the cool trailer.

There was one scene that was really creepy in my opinion. Sorta near the middle. I'd give it a 7/10 as well.

It's one of the best movies of 2001 in my opinion and one of the best thrillers I've seen in a long time. I thought it was pretty scary, it made me jump and my stomach tighten up. I'm glad I saw it in the theater. It's a very underrated movie, too bad more people didn't go see it. Wow was it excellent. I definately recommend this great thriller.

Grade: 9/10

I disagree with whoever said JoyRide didn't have any thriller scenes. I jumped throughout the movie. Thought the suspense was great, wonderful plot, and the characters did a good job. My favorite movie, horror related, for 2001.

Did anybody else think this film was waaaay to simple? The reason the killer had was sort
of a valid one but...I was like expecting some deep dark secret or something; but no.
Here he was wanting to seriously kill these guys because they pulled a prank on him? I
mean come on! this guy had no sense of humor at all...I know, insane killers usually dont
have one but...I kept waiting for some resonable explenation for this guy to seriously hurt these guys, but it never came. And Lilly sovieskys role here was like not even necesary, in my humble opinion. The movie is well made and shot but overlly simplistic if you ask me. Watcha guys think?

The man was seriously unstable. The practical joke made him really really mad and he just turned his mental unbalance towards the kids. There are crazy people out there who will be set off for the simplest of things. Joy ride was a top rate movie. Try to watch the dvd the alternate endings are worth the time to check out. One portrays a totally different last one thrid of the movie.

i thought it was pretty good. a definate change of pace from recent horror movies, the masked killer who-dun-it type bullshit. it was very suspensful and the ending was great, i smell a sequel. 7½/10

***Minor Spoilers***
It was really good, but classifying it as horror is a bit of a stretch. A thriller, definitely but horror, in the loosest sense of the word. There was no gore and only one death, that of the killer. For me, a horror film has to have gore and alot of death, otherwise it's a thriller. Either way, I give it an 8/10.

No offense but I hate the word thriller http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif. I view it as a horror movie. Its the classic stalk scenario that plenty of horror movies have done before. Except istead of a man in a mask its a man in a truck.

**** SPOILER****

Horror_Fanatic: the killer didnt die. he put the body of the ice truck driver in his truck and drove it through the hotel. thats why they went to a close up of the ring on the body, b/c it belonged to the ice truck driver that gave them back their credit card earlier in the film. thats why at the end Rusty Nail came on the CB rabio again, b/c he wasnt dead. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thats the thing with watching alternate endings sometimes you wont remembert wich was the real ending...I saw the alternate endings on JOYRIDE and I must say I like the one they put on the movie best.

But seriously would you go as far as to kill someone because they pulled a practicall joke on you? I know its just a movie but...

And I have seen other movies with similar subject matter. CArrie comes to mind. But in those films the prank went beyond just simple humiliation, in carrie they really made her life a living hell and therefore I would understand why AT THE END when she couldnt take it anymore she goes totally ballistic, but on JOYRIDE its like the killer goes haywire instantainiuosly.

I liked it. 8 out of 10. The beginning and end were good but the middle was weird and unrealistic. I find it hard to believe that they went on with their normal lives after what happened the first night they encountered Rusty Nail. Wouldn't the "ice" man been on the news or anything? Oh well still a good movie. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I found this film to be a really great, solid effort on the Cat-and-Mouse theme.

The ending was great. The best part of the film however, HAS to go to the SUPER-Talented and ULTRA-Hot Lee Lee Sobeski!!!! Alhough shes much too talented to be typecast as a 'Scream Queen', it wouldnt bother me to see her running around without a bra on, with a psycho in hot pursuit.
Much like Joyride. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Movie: 4 out of 4 Stars ****

Miss Lee Lee Sobeski, I salute you.. SHWING!!!!

After Joyride came out and did pretty decently I had assumed that we would get a sequel within a couple of years. Well that didn't happen and I thought that Joyride would just remain as a stand alone flick since it seems most people have forgotten about it by now.

I guess I was wrong because news has finally arrived on Joyride's sequelization. Joyride: End of the Road is already written and will begin production on October 15th in Vancouver.

From B-D:
In the film four young adults (Melissa, Bobby, Kayla, Nik) on the road to a concert in Las Vegas take a lethal side trip -- and when their beater of a car breaks down, they make the fatal error of stealing a car belonging to depraved, homicidal, sadistic, maniacal, sociopathic trucker Rusty Nail...

No director has been named just yet and we're pretty sure this one is going direct-to-video, but we'll keep you posted as news comes in.

I don't know what to think about this. The original is an okay film but at this point it might just be better to leave it be. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I think Roadkill (what its called here in the UK is a great little movie which is never boring, also the characters are really likeable which helped.

The villains voice alone is all the film needed to creep me out lol "Candycane" *shudders*.

8/10 Really good.
